Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

You should have wondered how long it would take instead.

13 hour day yesterday. 12 more today. God knows what the next two days. We file extensions at the end of tax season, sit on the goddammed things most of the summer, and then run around with our asscheeks on fire at the last minute to get the dammed things done, because a certain someone running the place manages his time about as well as Stevie Wonder drives a race car. This is just for the corporations. We get to do the same chicken dance next month for the personals.

And I haz a headache.

I'm halfway through a short work week and then I'm headed down to Iowa City for the Iowa/Pitt football game this weekend. My buddy and his wife have season tickets, and since they have a newborn infant and a two-year-old, I'm taking the extra ticket for this week's game. It should be fun, and MN could learn a thing or two about how to tailgate from those guys down there.

Our bosses must get pointers from each other in making non-sensical decisions.

You have no idea how much fun it is to make non-sensical decisions. Really screws people up. :D

You're telling me!

Side note: each 5 years, we get to choose a gift from a pool of decent stuff. Got a Fossil watch for my 5-year (which reminds me, need to replace the battery before Denver). For my 10-year, I got a Samsonite "office on wheels" sorta thing. Basically an enlarged laptop case that has wheels and a handle. It's not a gold watch, but it works. I like free stuff.

Although, there were better things I could have had, but would have been worthless to me, such as the steel portable firepit, or the outdoor Weber charcoal grill (the latter I have already, and the former would never be used).
