Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?
Hey Lodge.
Busy weekend, followed by an even busier day.
I went down to the parents house for the weekend. A good family friend that is about my age was getting married, so I went to the wedding with the family and met up with many family friends. The reception was at the casino, in one of the ballroom places that they rent out for that kind of thing. I went all out with attire, and not in my normal cowboy stuff. After dinner I was having some drinks with friends while the dancing started, the brother of the bride, who has never, and I mean never, gotten out and tried to have fun, started trying to get the girls I was talking to out dancing. (the girls I was talking to are my godparents daughters, so I've known them for as long as I can remember) They have known him for years and years now, and know that he is, as my mom calls him, a "creeper". They wanted nothing to do with him, but he wouldn't stop bugging them. So to get away, I asked the 2 that are in their 20s (the other is still 16 years old) if they wanted to go play blackjack to get away. They thought it was a great idea, so 4 of us, me, the 2 sisters and the boyfriend of one of them went out gambling. The girls hadn't played blackjack before, so we helped them out. After a couple shoes the one girl and her boyfriend were out of money, so they left, leaving the 2 of us. We played for about 40 more minutes, we ended up at the end both throwing all of our chips in to see what happened. I got a blackjack and she got a 20, we both won, and walked away up about $150. We had a great time, and actually, it seemed like we really hit it off, which just seems weird, since we've known each other for so long. Everyone, including both of our parents have been bugging us, saying we should go out sometime, ever since she dumped her last boyfriend. I'm still skeptical about it, it seems like it could just be really awkward. But on the other hand, the girl is gorgeous, and actually has a personality, and seems somewhat interested also. What to do, what to do...
Went golfing with my parents for fathers day. It was my first round of the year, and I shot under my handicap after not playing for about 8 months, I was happy with that. I could have shot really low, for me, if my putting was better, but since it was my first round, the putting was off all day.
I had to leave at 4:30 this morning and head to the airport. I flew down to Indiana, and had a bunch of work to do once I got down here. Now I have training all day Tues-Thurs, before flying home Friday afternoon.
