Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Hi Lodge.

LWB, Greek for sure - better food.

Scarlet, I was watching on NHL Network for a while, I looked for you but didn't see you. I like the ducks for the parade, good choice...

Raining here, dammit. We were going to the Back to the Fifties car show today, I already bought tickets...

On our drive to Willmar ( about 100 miles each way) for a youth soccer game Thursday night we got a flat tire. Got to drive ~120 miles on the space saver spare, going no more than 55 mph. Went and got 4 new tires put on this morning for $672.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Good Morning, Lodge.

Waiting to get the oil changed on my car. I am debating if I want to go to Greek Fest or Polish Fest this afternoon.

Doesnt matter the only 2 that matter are Germanfest and Irishfest, although Summerfest is fun, but a 5hit ton more people and no where near the choices of beer

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Just posted a bunch of pics in the NHL offseason thread. And on Facebook. What a day! The weather forecast wasn't too promising last night but it was bright and sunny all day. And hot. Lugged my umbrella with me for nothing. Though had I not brought it, it probably would have rained. :) Thank God I got there when I did, which was about 8:30. Crazy crowds!! I was right up against the barricade. I was close to the end of the parade route, so the duck boats didn't make there way to me till after 12 noon. About 20 minutes after I got home, I heard thunder and we just had a passing shower. Excellent timing! Anyway, I have no idea who, other than the players and their families, were on the duck boats. Good times, though. Glad I went.

Today, I was supposed to work from 12-3:39 then 5:30-12. That has turned into a 12-12:30, with a 10 minute break. Fml.

Mornin' Fred.
Mornin' Ralph.

"Mornin', Ralph."
"Mornin', Sam."
:D

That stinks, man; sorry to hear. (I was going to say At least you got to see the World's Largest Ear of Corn -- then I remembered that's in Olivia.)

I ended up going back to Greek Fest. Too awesome of food to pass up.

True...Summerfest is fun. The line up for this year is not really that great.

Greek Fest starts off the church festivals in Racine. I was debating if I wanted to drive to Milwaukee to the Summerfest grounds, but knowing me, I wouldn't be able to get back home. At Polish Fest, they have an endless vodka tasting area. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

So I heard some wonderful news today from my brother. Apparently, my SIL's stepdad's kid was arrested last week for a sex offense (link to story in Nice Planet). Boy, I just can't wait until the next family occasion.

Yikes. He does sorta have that "voted most likely to be a predator" look to him.

real winner... surprised he isn't facing child endangerment for leaving a house with sleeping kids in it for some "play time"

edit: good on the family for letting him sit in jail... even if it were just the girl being 18 and he was just up for proving alcohol to someone under age it sounds like time away from free society was owed.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

He was rather spoiled as a kid (family is rather well-off; I won't say rich, but they are not hurting for money whatsoever), so he does have a sort of "entitlement" attitude. And as for his "look," the kid looked 24 when he was 15. He had a full beard. And honestly? I actually believe his story. Doesn't make it right, not one bit. I do want to make that clear. And for the record, I hope he's punished severely.

Edit: the kids were around 10 years old or so, from what I've been told, so old enough to take care of themselves, so to speak.
