Tonight was fun. Neighbor up the road here had 5 augus calves get loose on him, and one of them wandered onto our farm here. Thankfully, we were able to chase it into our barn, and corral it in our indoor arena. He was there for an hour while they worked on rounding up the others. Anyways, they brought their stock trailer over to take him home, and as they were backing it up to a gate, the bugger went and jumped an other gate to the arena. Thankfully, we got him back into the arena again. Next trick was getting him into the trailer. The bugger charged a few times, like at a Spanish bullfight. And knocked him down twice. The kicker was that after he knocked him down the second time, the calf pretty much went right into the trailer and got in it. Like as if to say, "Ok, I'm done here."

Then to top it all off, we had a wagon of hay come in. Got that stacked. Will likely have 3 or 4 more tomorrow night as well, as long as the rain holds off.

I know there isn't supposed to be math, but the other day I spelled "1 + 1" using American bacon. :D

Good morning Lodge.

Given the weather here in 320land I am glad I have an office job. My big leather chair was freezing this morning when I sat in it. :)

For those of you who are outside today.......drink lot's of fluids and take it easy.

Morning Lodge. Second day at the new office.

Yesterday when the freeway buckled, I could watch the effects out my office window as the back-up on the ramp from downtown to I94 was impressive. It caused me to check the traffic map and see that one of my route options to go home had a similar, but less severe occurance (hwy 100 south had one lane blocked by pavement failure) so I was able to adjust my route home. Sweet. My new office also deosn't get hot in the afternoon.
