Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Good morning lodge.

The girl just headed home. I have a couple hours to kill before the rental car place opens and I can get on the road to Green Bay.

Details for brent: my buddy from school, that you've met at the FF this year told me thy one of our friends was driving down from the UP this weekend and wanted to go out Saturday night. So it ended up being 4 of us from school going out, along with one buddy's girlfriend and her best friend. We planned ahead and got a room at super 8 and went to toby keiths. It was fun, ran into a former tech vollyball players bachelorette party, which was very interesting. Anyways, me and this other girl in out group start really hitting it off and we got pretty drunk. We walked back to the hotel and ended up getting our own room... Fast forward to Sunday morning, and we all drive back up the my neighborhood and the girl wasn't feeling great, she was pretty hungover. I told her that she could take a nap on my couch and recover a bit before driving back to duluth, which she did. After a couple hours napping she felt better and we ordered pizza and watched some hockey. She ended up staying the night and just left for work, in Duluth. It was kind of a crazy weekend, but it was fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

'Morning, Lodge. I had a great weekend back in MI. Now, back to real life. I have a 43 hour scheduled week this week, and my highest mileage week for training. My plan for next Sunday: sleeping. A lot.

I watched that last night. Pretty good movie/story.

Good evening Lodge.

For those of you keeping score from home here is an update on little g. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/zacharyanderson

That is an awesome update! :)
The offer still stands--if you all need anything while you're here in Duluth, just let me know.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Morning Lodge. Thanks for the update on 'lil g. Great to read of his amazing progress. Hope the procedure helps more.

What a miserable weekend for youth soccer in Blaine. Windy the whole ****ing time. Wet half the time, our kids had a game Sunday AM on one of the few fields that still had standing water so they were splashing around in those 20s windchills. I drove round trip the ~45 minutes to Blaine 4 times since the kid got soaked in the first game each day and we to go home to try and dry things out. :( While standing out in that cold wind Sunday morning my wife said "next year he plays hockey all year." I think this is the end of soccer (he kinda sucks at it anyway).

Oh yeah, they got second in the little 4 team pool so they got medals. Lost twice to the same team and won and tied the other two games. Meh. Team that beat them is way better AS A TEAM. Much better position play and teamwork.

I say he should play as long as he can. I'm finishing high school a three sport athlete; somewhat of a lost art up in the metro. I was an average football player, but I still absolutely loved it.

Mornin' everybody. I'm so worn out from the weekend still. I went on a run yesterday, as I'm going to try and get in shape. Three miles...might've been a little much to start, i'm pretty sore on my lower body, but I stretched this morning and i'm not feeling too bad. I'm going to try and do an extra half mile a day or so, and then just see where I'm at.

If there was the slightest prayer that he could play soccer at the high school level, he would stick with it. He struggles at the C3 level (C1 is highest in this age). He is simply too slow to play. When he was younger and they played on smaller fields he could play at C2 level due to ability in traffic. The added space on full size fields leaves him in the dust.

He loves throwing the discus and will continue with that. His coaches like him and are very encouraging in track. That might be his best chance to compete in high school. He'll never make anywhere close to JV or Varsity at Edina in hockey or soccer.

Send him to a Minneapolis Public School. He will be varsity then! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

So a close family friend's son is a SEAL.
His parents only know he's' been in Afghanistan for the past few months.
He called his wife yesterday (out of the blue) and just told he he was ok - which he rarely does.
Guess which Lodge member is buying the SEAL's old man a Grey Goose next time I see him?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Greetings all from the booth. Apolo Anton Ohno was here this morning signing copies of his book. He's hott.

It was weird being here and hearing the news about Bin Laden. I only hope Mark Bavis' (former Terrier and brother of BU asst. coach Mike) family gets a little bit of closure from this news.
