Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Greetings all from the booth. Apolo Anton Ohno was here this morning signing copies of his book. He's hott.

It was weird being here and hearing the news about Bin Laden. I only hope Mark Bavis' (former Terrier and brother of BU asst. coach Mike) family gets a little bit of closure from this news.

How is the reaction from the Canadians?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Great to hear about lil g! Best wishes to him for his upcoming surgery!

What a kid!!

This was so cool to read.

That is an awesome update! :)
The offer still stands--if you all need anything while you're here in Duluth, just let me know.

Morning Lodge. Thanks for the update on 'lil g. Great to read of his amazing progress. Hope the procedure helps more.

Thank you.

The Executive Chef at Chez Shot informs me tonight's dinner will be fresh spring pea soup with curried croutons and minted chevre cheese. Bon appetit y'all.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

In Green Bay. Got 1 of 3 engines dialed in, 2 more to go tomorrow and hopefully driving home at a decent time tommorow afternoon.

Good morning lodge.

The girl just headed home. I have a couple hours to kill before the rental car place opens and I can get on the road to Green Bay.

Details for brent: my buddy from school, that you've met at the FF this year told me thy one of our friends was driving down from the UP this weekend and wanted to go out Saturday night. So it ended up being 4 of us from school going out, along with one buddy's girlfriend and her best friend. We planned ahead and got a room at super 8 and went to toby keiths. It was fun, ran into a former tech vollyball players bachelorette party, which was very interesting. Anyways, me and this other girl in out group start really hitting it off and we got pretty drunk. We walked back to the hotel and ended up getting our own room... Fast forward to Sunday morning, and we all drive back up the my neighborhood and the girl wasn't feeling great, she was pretty hungover. I told her that she could take a nap on my couch and recover a bit before driving back to duluth, which she did. After a couple hours napping she felt better and we ordered pizza and watched some hockey. She ended up staying the night and just left for work, in Duluth. It was kind of a crazy weekend, but it was fun.
Why is it this stuff always happens when I'm NOT there?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

If there was the slightest prayer that he could play soccer at the high school level, he would stick with it. He struggles at the C3 level (C1 is highest in this age). He is simply too slow to play. When he was younger and they played on smaller fields he could play at C2 level due to ability in traffic. The added space on full size fields leaves him in the dust.

He loves throwing the discus and will continue with that. His coaches like him and are very encouraging in track. That might be his best chance to compete in high school. He'll never make anywhere close to JV or Varsity at Edina in hockey or soccer.

Nordic skiing! :)

And tonight's dinner at Piper's House 920 was black bean soup. Also disappointed that I went to make brioche and discovered that I'm just about out of AP flour.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

I don't think he's going to pursue it but it was easy for him to pick it up in 10th grade.....and they don't cut skiiers at STA.

Edina doesn't cut track either. They just have A, B and Exhibition squads. Of course Edina doesn't cut football either, but I don't see jr. trying that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

This hotel room has the best layout ever. I can sit on the can and still watch the Bruins-Flyers game!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Gotta love Playoff OT:)

As I was kind of relfecting on the whole Bin Laden thing today, I stumbled across this, an interesting quote that I feel is almost fitting for this situation..

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

For some reason, this really hit home with me, and I kind of believe this is quote is my thoughts on everything now. I was so quick to jubilate at the news of Bin Laden's death, when although an absolutely horrific person, he was still one of God's children. Is that truly right? Who knows, just something I was thinking about earlier!

Screw that. We should celebrate this day every day from now on. And we should have mailed his body back to his ****hole by flying a cargo plane over afghanistan with a woodchipper sticking out the back.

Yeah I am going to have to disagree with you on this one.

Enough of that, though. This isn't the place for it.

I really thought Philly was going to take that one with all of the pressure at the end of regulation and in the OT. Can't say that I am sad that they didn't.

I did forget to mention, sorry for bringing that up in here.:p

I thought Philly would win too, but they're just not built for the playoffs without a solid goaltender.

Thankfully I don't believe in any sort of god and have no qualms about being happy about this scumbag's death. People who commit mass murder need to be killed, and when they are, I won't feel the least bit bad about it. After all, this ****stick's organization is the reason we are subjected to the ****ing security procedures at airports now that involve body scans and groping.
