Good morning, Lodge. Going to register for classes today along with changing my major to culinary arts.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good Morning Lodge.

I was out all weekend, looks like I missed a bit around here. Count me in as being at the hockey happy tiki bar. Awesome hockey Friday night, Blaine over Maple Grove in OT, and we left after that, before the huge upset of Hill-Murray by White Bear Lake. But we had some serious drinking to do, so no regrets.

Worked on the bathroom yesterday. Electric in-floor heat is installed and working. All sheet rock is up, ready to be taped, and I have a close family friend coming over to tape today when I'm at work (I am going to owe a bunch of people favors and a huge dinner after this bathroom is done). Then I'll have to get cement board cut, and put on the wall in the shower, and I'll be ready to start tiling.

What college hockey did I miss the weekend? (honestly, the only thing I heard was the Gopher scores from my dad, and a couple scores from Friday night that MNS and I looked up when we were out and about.)

Good morning all.

I don't drink anymore. I don't drink any less, either.

Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself.

As long as you're free and clear for the F4.....

And by my count, you have two free martinis coming to you at that time (Bro Gin and me).

Well, not really as it will still be Lent during the FF, but the FF was during Holy Week a few times and I still went. And drank. And ate. So, no worries! And I'll make sure to bring my own martini glasses in case whatever bar of choice chooses to go with all plastic cups! :)

On last thing about Lent and fasting, normally it's that you're not supposed to eat anything that has blood in it. So, shellfish is really only the fish you can eat when you strict fast. But, if I were to eat lobster, I would need lots of butter. And abstaining from dairy is also something you need to do, so that's out. Such problems!! I made a pot of lentil soup yesterday and will probably eat that most of the week.

I hope you mean "bars of choice" you will probably be seeing several different ones. :p

I don't know who is all planning on going with our group out drinking, but all are welcome. We have kind of planned out a couple nights (well, at least this is what Brent, MNS, state of hockey, me, etc. are roughly planning):

Friday afternoon - downtown Minneapolis, possibly go to the Twins home opener, if we can get tickets, but likely we'll be left outside the gates. Get some food, start drinking slowly, basically just hang out in a relaxed kind of way and watch the game.

Friday night - Have some drinks downtown, possible places to drink would be Shout House (piano bar), Kieran's (Irish pub), Smalley's (sports bar), The Loon, (more of a laid back bar), Sneaky Pete's (****show party bar), Bootleggers (****show party bar that we can get free cover at). At about 9:00, we want to head over to Gastof's in Nordeast for das boots. Close out the night at Gastof's. If we want we could even bar hop from downtown to Gastof's, there are some fun places in Northeast that we could check out, possibly Nye's Polynaise Room, to show the Easterners how we roll in MN.

Saturday night, post nat'l championship game - Downtown St. Paul, (Tom Reid's, Eagle Street, McGovern's)

Other than that, we don't have much planned, I don't think. I imagine we'll want to find something to do Thursday night and possibly Wednesday night. Thursday night might just be best to hang out in St. Paul by the arena again. Wednesday night, I have no clue, but I'd be willing to head up a group going to Toby Keith's that night, if anyone is interested.

There's one really attractive one at Bootleggers. I'm sure there are more than that, but I haven't been out enough down there to know where.
