Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Ouch. Found out the co-worker with pneumonia also has blood clots in his lungs. He's about my age. He's gonna be out for a while, obviously. I just don't know how common that is, or how easy it is to recover from. les...?
Tough to tell without other history- kind of odd tho. Probably something underlying that popped when he was physically challenenged

One of my coworkers has had a similar problem with clotting and other random 'common' illnesses and conditions (pneumonia, low testosterone) that pop up every few months and force him to stay home and telecommute for up to two weeks. It all started two years ago when he ignored DVT symptoms and landed in the hospital with a collapsed lung, nearly dead. They've been trying to pinpoint his problem, and think it's autoimmune, but can't specify what despite all the tests they've run.
That is a fascinating hx although it is usually not pleasant to be fascinating to medical people.

Anybody else here as baby out as I am right now?? Last week our office manager's son was born. Then Sunday a co-worker's wife had their third girl. Pretty sure the office staff there already is planning on little Henry to take Faustina to the Prom, and so on and so on there. Then there's all that nonsense with what's going on across the Pond. Its enough to make one sick I tell ya.
Faustina? What a stupid ****ing name. Poor kid.

How'd the golf go, guys?

Busy times here. Crazy how fast this summer is moving along.
Pretty good for hacks like us. We were 3 20-30 handicappers, and we shot 69 in a scramble. Better than I thought we'd do. The winning score was, as expected, very low, 55. They were going to assign us a 4th player, since they had extras without teams, but we never got one. Lots of hockey players showed up to this thing, several from both Tech and UMD, a few retired NHL guys, a couple current NHL guys and a handful of AHL players.

Hello tLodgians. Haven't posted much lately. Went on vaca for a week and then the Mrs. had emergency surgery right when we got back. she's doing well and started back to work today. The MIL stayed with us for 2 weeks to help out (which she didn't get into an argument with my wife so there's a plus, but I started to realize why I get so quiet when I am around her and it opened my eyes and I'm starting to get annoyed with her antics now). Anywho, the chicklet is turning two in less than a month. Where has the time gone? Happy summer everyone!

So Minnesota peeps....the Gophers do not have games scheduled the weekend of Nov 1-3? Potential work travel there for me that weekend.

Nope. Want to see a high school game? BTW, I sent you a Facebook message about our trip out there. Sometime in the week of August 14-21.

Saw it. Will think of some options and get back to you. I have family visiting that week otherwise I'd see about meeting up. Still may be able to, just not sure what everyone is doing.

A couple of updates - the USA Hockey thing I mentioned in Grand Forks is an exhibition with the women's hockey team, not men's. I've put in my request to do the Minneapolis event the weekend of Nov 2-3. We'll see if I get the OK. If I do, you will all get the invite to the free and open to the public event. It's going to be fun. Even if I don't go I will tell you all about it and encourage you to attend. Stay tuned for that.

I really wish I could've made that work. Would've been a blast.. Just couldn't get my shift covered at work.

They didn't handicap it?
