So sorry for your loss hp. :(

Had my pre-op appointment for my foot surgery this morning. Now, I love my podiatrist and am nursing a somewhat unhealthy crush on the man, but when I went in this morning he had one of his associates exam my foot and wow. Quite possibly the hottest man I've ever seen. No really. This guy was GORGEOUS. Hope he will be in the operating room with me. :) Nothing like having a hot guy massage your feet!

So yesterday was the last day of the summer hockey camp for Jr's high school and he finally got to scrimmage with the JV and Varsity players (after first scrimmaging with 9th and 10 graders). He scored two goals and took the puck away from one of the stars. Coach told him to make sure he has 8th period as an open period on his schedule (that's when captains' practices, weight training, etc. are).

Appreciate the thoughts, y'all. Back in Tampa. 90 and humid. Golfing tomorrow, Bucs open night practice Saturday night, with autograph session and additional season ticket holder perks (food and liquids of the adult variety I believe!)

hp, sorry for your loss. Never good.


Got a call that my mom had another seizure or hear attack-like event today. They don't know which is is since she has a DNR on file and we're enforcing it, given how advanced her Alzheimer's is. That marks the third time this year she's had an episode like that. It had been a while since the last one. She's doing all right now, medicated to sleep.

I'm told that my high school added an 8th period. The school day is the same length as when I was there, all of the periods were just chopped some 6 or 7 minutes to make room.

Yeah, seems too broken up to me. I still don't expect him to make jv, but it's good he's seeing he can play at that level. Even if he plays Jr Gold this season.

In other news, Southwest doesn't have bereavement/compassion fares, and HOLY FREAKING BATMOBILE PRICING. Gulp, there goes my next paycheck, since I won't fly brands X-Y-Z if I can help it. Good news is that I fly right into my hometown on Cape Air from Albany.

Mowing the yard tonight. Afterwards I'm sweeping the driveway and these three ****sticks, dressed in black, are glaring at me all the way up the sidewalk. The biggest one maybe weighed 135, soaking wet with a brick in his pocket. It was all I could do not to say, "Look, asshats, I grew up squarely in the generation of Slayer, Iron Maiden, and Anthrax. You f-ckwagons have nothing on me!"

Then, as they pass, I notice one of the guys is wearing stripper boots. *shakes head*

All OT Friday tomorrow, and I'm starting early (am responsible for monthly safety inspections at main building, which I have to do before the usual start time). I know, me, right? Who knew I could be all safe and stuff?

Crazy work week so far. I have been in the office by 6:00 am each day and the earliest I have left has been 6:30 pm. Much of the same tomorrow.

After work tomorrow I am heading up north to the cabin to spend the weekend with a couple friends. Grilling big juicy steaks, playing cards and killing brain cells are the only things on the agenda.
