Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

I booked my trip for Final 5 week, since it couldn't be moved like we had hoped. Apparently like 30 dudes from South America already had trips booked for that week, oh well. The good news is, Friday was left open for travel and there was a flight leaving Lubbock, TX at 6AM, so I can get back to Minneapolis in time for both games on Friday. I don't feel too bad about only missing the Thursday games, I'll be around for the majority of the fun.
Good old West Texas driving! Your breakfast options are few if you're in a hurry Friday morning, but there is a McDonald's in Muleshoe that is quick-off quick-on (the one in Littlefield requires an exit ramp). If you follow the speed limit (70 mph/65 if it's dark) you're looking at a drive time of 1+45 or so to the airport from Clovis. You only pass one feed lot, which is good.

Have a safe trip!

Good morning.

I'd say the presence of a bar makes it a quintessential Saint Paul event. Well done, Professor Grey. Don't worry if some residents of Blainetucky give you grief about this.
Not to make you insanely jealous.....ok it is.......but we were at the University Club on Summit Ave. for the reading. :)
St. Paul authors too, two if which are very good friends and neighbors.

Blainetucky. That's actually pretty funny.

It really is. I will have to steal that one. :D

When did they side that at least some 1099s didn't have to be mailed until 2/15?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

I have a four day weekend...I'm in.
:)
I might be in. Depends on how a few things play out leading up to the weekend and a few things on Saturday during the day.

What did you have in mind?
No TK's, please; and I'm only up for it on Sat. I figure I'll have a head start due to whatever result happens in the MN-WI game. ;)
Saturday you say... hmmmm... I'll be in town. Might be able to make it work.
Morning!

I'd consider being in, depending on what story you had in mind.
I didn't really have anything in mind, I just want to get out and have fun this weekend. We don't have to go to TK's, the band there on Saturday doesn't interest me anyway. Lets just pick a place and all go there, if you want to pre drink at my place, thats fine, but its way out of the way for most people.

and JF, we don't really know what kind of stories will be the result, they just kind of happen without planning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Post the recipe, please! That sounds awesome.....and lent is near. :)

GE, My wife is a terrific cook, a chef really. She'll watch cooking shows and take bits and pieces of what she sees on such shows and modify recipes for her own use. In short, I can't tell you the recipe because my wife made it up as she went along. She just opens the fridge, sees what's inside and starts to create. We eat pretty well at our house.:)

I can tell... everything sounds so good coming out of your house!

Good morning, Lodge! Back to full strength today; already folded some laundry and washed the dishes. Even cleaned out the refrigerator!

I got a hotel close to the airport in Lubbock for Thursday night, so I will drive there after I'm done with work Thursday. Otherwise I'd have to leave Clovis at about 3:00AM to get to the airport in time, and I figured that waking up that early would seriously hamper my Final 5 fun later in the day.

Do you really think that driving past a feedlot would bother me? I was looking forward to seeing some 10,000 head feedlots, that would be pretty sweet.

I have the same things on my to-do list for today. I'm not quite at full strength, though. Why do I end up with a cold every time I go back to Houghton?

I'd just prefer that it doesn't involve bail, or hospitals. :D

I don't think we've ever had to bail anyone out before, and as long as we keep MNS from going face first into a floor and breaking his nose, we should be fine on the hospital front also.

Nothing wrong with hospitals. He could hook up with one of those nurses that was busted for stealing anesthesia drugs meant for a surgical patient.

Good morning Lodge.
