Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

went to a sushi place in worcester tonight. they had a large martini menu. i had two. first was a 'key lime martini'. followed by 'white chocolate'.

i'm not gay, right?
(not that there is anything wrong with that!)

I have two rules when it comes to this...

1) Did it taste good?
2) If it tasted good then why aren't you sharing?

If its an enjoyable drink I don't care if they make it out of flamingo beak and rainbow droplets :)

Piece of cake for Denver tonight in the team's 5-1 win and sweep of Alaska. Sam Brittain was terrific in goal. Beau Bennett and Nick Shore were proficient playmakers tonight and the team looked strong, especially in the last stages of the first period and throughout the third period.

The boys head into an open weekend in first place in the league. Nice job men.:)

What will be your hockey substitute? I think for atmosphere it'd have to be Butler basketball.

considering there's no hockey in Greensboro, I don't care. I'm just glad to be getting out of there

and that makes you a Nancy

Evening Lodge. Saw my old college roommate and we actually went outside in 0 degree weather and played hockey. Felt good. :)

The best time to buy a new car is when the dealers are trying to get rid of the current model year and are bringing in the next model year (I can't remember when this happens - I think it's in the early fall). If you're going for a used car, then it really doesn't matter when you are shopping for one.

We went to dinner with some friends and I had a burger and a couple of Knob Creeks (neat). I'm thinking yes, yes you are. :p :D

I think I can hold out for now... but it only takes so many subway screw ups and so many tired nights schleping on up to the grocery store to make me say "**** it, I'm buying"... I suppose its time to figure out what I want.

Good morning. Back from church. Cuppa hazlenut coffee in hand and the chef is fixing some french toast for breakfast. Enjoy the rest of your day folks. :)

I hadn't even noticed until you mentioned it. Denver has rather quietly amassed a strong record. Talk about reloading, and not rebuilding.

Hey Fade, You make a fair point about Denver reloading rather than rebuilding this year. A prime example of this is freshman Jason Zucker. Zucker scored his 17th goal of the season last night. All 17 have come in WCHA action. No other WCHA player has more than 13 goals in league games. With ten league games remaining and at least two conference playoff games after that Zucker has a terrific shot at scoring twenty or more goals this season. After a quick look through the DU record book I found that no freshman at DU scored at least twenty goals in a season going back through the 1999-2000 season, so Zucker is approaching a mark rarely attained by a freshman at DU.

Going back at least as long as that same 1999-2000 season the most goals scored by a freshman at DU is 18 by Tyler Bozak in the 2007-2008 season. Bozak also led the team in scoring--with 34 points, a total Zucker will likely equal or surpass--that season as a freshman. [Currently Drew Shore has 28 points, Anthony Maiani 27 and Zucker 26 so he's in the race for the team lead in points.]

During his recruitment I heard glowing reports of Zucker's ability and thought as a freshman if he scored 10 to 12 goals and had a total of 30 points that would be a terrific year. Given his performance thus far I think he has a realistic chance to score 20 goals and amass 40 points and those would be impressive totals for any freshman in the WCHA.

As to your point about reloading versus rebuilding, yes, with the performances by Zucker, goalie Sam Brittain, defenseman David Makowski and forwards Beau Bennett and Nick Shore through the twenty-six games Denver has played, the team has been the beneficiary of strong play by its freshman class. The graduation of Rhett Rakhshani, Tyler Ruegsegger and the departures of Patrick Wiercioch, Joe Colborne and Marc Cheverie have been greatly mitigated.

Well, we officially started the night with shots of Jack. It kinda went downhill from there. But it was fun.

Today, the couch and I will probably hug each other for about 10 hours.

I would be careful when you go to the bathroom, you might fight a Tiger in there, or perhaps an ill-tempered ferret perhaps.
