Morning. Getting sick, not happy. However, it's my Last First Day of Classes! Hopefully skiing tonight too with some people, pretty pumped.

More meetings with my new team members today. It makes the day go fast when you just get to sit and chat with people all day. Added bonus that one of them is kind of cute.

Good Morning.

I think roads would have been better if they just left the snow on them. The bare pavement on 65 that was left was glare ice. Good thing I don't suck at driving.

Yes. The other team has some great parents and real good kids. Also some kids that are real d-bags (the kid who broke his stick for one). Had most of the other Edina PW teams cheering for us in that one.

Having the team over for pasta and skating on the pond Friday night. Oops, bigger turnout than expected so far. :o The wife will be picking up some folding chairs today. We figured most kids would have something going on for a Friday night. Seems chicken fettuccine Alfredo and pond hockey is a good draw.

A few days here, and I think I get what all the fuss is about.

'Morning, Lodge! Getting settled in Duluth, though today I have to finish off the unpacking so it actually looks like we have an apartment instead of a carpeted storage locker. And yesterday was a great day. :)

OK, you Minnesotans, I'm apparently going to my first MN HS hockey game this weekend. Eden Prairie vs. Duluth East. What should I expect from this event?

I don't know what the arena and atmosphere are there, but they are two excellent teams and it should be fun with passionate Duluth fans! If I get time tonight I may try to catch a Peewee A and a Bantam A game at the local arena. The Girls high school team plays on another rink at the same arena too.

10x better hockey than a normal Tech-NMU game. Especially with those 2 teams. EP is one of the best in the state, and I think ranked 1 right now. They're stacked. Duluth East is a State Tourney regular, and ranked, but I don't think they have nearly enough firepower to hang with the Eagles this year. For EP, look for the Rau's, twin brothers to the Rau that played at CC. Kyle Rau, number 7, forward, is one of the best players in the state and is commited to the Gophs, his brother is Curt, number 11, defenseman. It should be a good game, because East is no slouch, but Eden Prairie is damm good.

And this is why I wish we lived in Minnesota.

Want to go watch a really good high school hockey team? Pick a day and go to a rink... *sigh*

Which will also be higher caliber hockey than a Tech game.

It was a tough one for the brass monkeys last night as the temp dropped to minus six in our neighborhood. It has risen to a positively tropical ten above this morning. Definitely a good morning for a second, hot cup of coffee.:)
