Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 127: So This is the New Year...

as much as I would love to see you succeed in the marathons, I'd be happier if you could eat a piece of cake, or a chocolate chip cookie, or a bowl of ice cream without wanting to stab yourself
Actually I have started to enjoy chocolate again. One of my new favorite treats is chocolate covered espresso beans.

Yep. Turkey was phenomenal, and I still have the radish burps. Add some lefse, and blueberry muffins, along with garlic mashed potatoes...Al-Bundy-hand-down-the-belt anyone? http://sportige.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Al-Bundy.jpg :D
:D

My roasted chicken turned out great; the gravy I made was even better. Do wish I'd have served more than the chicken and roasted veggies, though...

And good morning, Lodge.

Ditto. I fell asleep after dinner on the couch. I was stuffed. The ham this year was spectactular. One of the best I've ever had.

Translation, Short timer, who really doesn't care :D

Actually, I do care. If I have to use a day of annual leave, it's one fewer day of leave that I will get paid for when I retire. OTOH, I haven't seen a snowflake here yet.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 127: So This is the New Year...

So my brother, SIL and mother were do here at 11 for brunch. At 10:20 I get a text that my bro forgot something at my father's so they need to stop there, will get mum at 11 and be here a few minutes late. Brunch is now ruined in the oven. They just texted 5 minutes ago they are leaving my mothers (20 min away) to be here soon. I am beside myself. Not sure who I am more piszed at. Myself for tryng to do something nice when they never, EVER are on time (they will be late to thier own funeral) or at them because it is so dammed disrespectful to show up an hour late for a meal. It isn't like they had anything to so this AM except get their azzes out of bed and come. So far I have been up, cleared away last night's stuff, done dishes, reset the table, been to church for a few hours, made eggs, french toast, bacon, gotten everything ready. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (phew. I needed that.)

It's on them, les. An hour late? I can understand 10 minutes or something, but that is inexcusable.

I think you could heat all that up quick and be fine.

I think she should treat her guests to Eggos and pizza rolls. :p

Morning, Lodge! The ham was great here too - got it from a butcher up past bb_dl's place. We had scalloped potatoes with it, but I'd rather have had the garlic mashed. :D

With that menu there's no way in hell I'm late. :)

Dinner went great yesterday....the beef tenderloin turned out beautifully, the blue cheese sauce was a wonderful compliment and I took people licking their bowls of crème brulée clean as a positive. :) Best part was our kids were completely shocked by their Christmas gift.....we're bringing them to Key West & Cocoa Beach over Easter.

Someone makes you a nice brunch, you know its going to be excellent and you're late? W TF is wrong with people, they never would have made it in my house, my brothers and I would kill everything on the table before they showed up:D

It's flurrying now but still not sticking, however the forecasts have changed from 5 to 6 inches to about one inch. :)

Wow, really? We're getting 14-20" here. Was supposed to have Movie Day tomorrow with my brother and my friend - a tradition we've had for the last 5 years or so. We may still do one movie, later Monday night, if we're not buried. I'm still at my parents' house but heading out shortly. I'm going to leave my car in the T garage across the street tonight. Given that the heaviest part of the storm is from 10pm-4am, I'm hoping the parking lot will be plowed in the morning. They'll plow out my spot if my car is not there.

Had a nice day yesterday with my family. One of my nieces for Just Dance II for the Wii. My mother and my aunt danced to Proud Mary. My sides still hurt from laughing. I thought I was capturing it all on video on my iPhone but I dd something wrong. I'm so bummed, because that was going on Facebook and couldn've gone viral!!!! It was pretty awesome.
