Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Here in St, Clooud for another night. Walked around campus for a little bit and talked to a few of my previous mentors while I was in school there. I plan on meeting up with the in-laws for dinner. Just having a great time here. Then tomorrow is back home. BTW, Val's was amazing for lunch today!

Good morning Lodge.

Congrats mookie jr. How did the first game go?

they lost 3-6. team only dressed 9, 3 on defense (of which he's one). i stood and listened to some moron call the head of the league on his cell and complain that his kids wasn't asked to dress because the team was short players. then kept mentioning my kids name as one of the newest promotes. over and over. then he hung up and a woman next to him said she agreed with all his said. they both then went on and on how it was nothing against the newest promote, how they both liked the family. how they noticed the mom wasn't there and didn't know the father (ahem  ). i hate team sports. i remember why i quit them at a young age and moved toward individual sports like golf where my score was the only thing that mattered....
of course, the boy still doesn't want to make physical contact with anyone, so 4 of the goals were directly his fault (to me at least). still haven't figured out how to bring this up because he was so happy that he made the team and proud of himself that i didn't feel like pizzing all over his little parade then.

i think i need a girlfriend to occupy my time:eek:

Yeah, I'd pass on that one in a heartbeat. No interest in listening to ganster rappers chant slang into a microphone at 130dB while jumping around like a 4 year old on 5-hour energy.

I've always wanted to go to Europe and go to a DJ festival. Imagine a bunch of the worlds greatest DJ's spinning to crowds of over 100,000.

Actually, most of you probably can't appreciate that. :p

Yay!

Sounds better than the ratatouille I'm making for dinner tonight.

Afternoon, Lodge. Time to start preparing dinner...
Mmm... I love ratatouille! I need to make some again soon. :)

I would never go to that either. I hate techno crap.

The festival I just went to labor day was 25k each day. It's absolutely insane. And loud. Very, very loud.

Let the coach bring it up. Lots of kids have a hard time shifting to hitting because squirts is such a different tactical game. Or if you feel you need to- ask him what is different about the game and that might start the conversation.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

P.S. to mookie~ get a camera, stand in the corner and people leave you alone. I enjoy watching so much more that way. Can say what ever I want and no one is around:D Peewee parents were without a doubt the worst of any of the ages so far. Their kids are all going to the NHL, no one has seen their real potential yet and it is the parents' job to position their kid to be seen...etc... I hated that age group. Bantams seems more mello- either the kid is playing at an elite level or the parents seem more beat down and getting a taste of reality.

he played on the pw2 team last year. nobody cares there if you win or lose (comparatively). nobody is upset that there kid is on pw3 (since there ain't none).

i brought it up last year. i brought it up tonight ("i thought you had A good shift.... you hit a kid and helped turn the puck up the ice and derrick scored"). he said he checked a teammate tonight in drills.

it's a start...:p

(i just need to watch i don't stomp some fools nuts. i don't think i can post from jail)

i avoid those people like they had open sore herpes!! every year so far i go stand by myself away from everyone else. girl kids me that the only parent i talk to is a woman who comes up to me and forces herself on me (hey, what can i say ;) ). everyone else may get a nod from me after the game if we pass each other. i can't stand the yelling at refs, the 'my kid should be this or that...'. they all suck ***. i thought i was safe saturday, standing all alone next to two people (lucky me)  didn't help they were at that two rink joint in tewksbury off demascus road or somesort. really no where to go there except against the glass so you have to get near someone.

again, just lucky me.

"i don't know the father..."
