They sound equally good. I didn't get the time to make chowdah this afternoon. :( Tomorrow for sure though.

Both of them sound better than chowdah. ;) Not a huge fan of clams, and corn chowder just sounds like an abomination, really - fish chowder could be okay though, depending on the fish.

Afternoon, Lodge.

I got to spend 12k today at work. Big kid jobs are fun! We're opening a martini lounge and got a bunch of "modern" white leather and zebra print sectional furniture. Now, of course, we must accessorize. This means I'm going with my boss to Green Bay in a couple of weeks to spend a day shopping.

As we were looking for martini glasses, we found the COOLEST things. Inside out martini glasses. Google it and check it out.

So basically, you're trying to get me to visit?

Sure sounds like it.

country club has 'tapas and martini' saturdays. $6 tapas and $4 martini's. they throw together some special variety offerings as well. went up a couple saturday's ago but had dinner (not tapas) and three of the martinis. wasn't bad.

Good Evening, Lodge!

Thank you all for the congrats!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

Google Maps says it's only 39 minutes! Yeah, I guess that will be teh suck.

Welcome back, Chickens!

10 days until the start of the season!

And now three more exclamation points!!!

Except where I'm on the far north side of Blaine and it currently takes about an hour to get to exit 59 on 694 (valley creek road).

This is going to be about an hour twenty to hour and a half.

So google maps has some fine tuning to do :)

Corn chowder is actually delicious.

We're making ice cream for dessert (base is in the fridge at the moment - ice cream won't be ready until tomorrow) and pasta with reheated homemade sauce, meatballs, and sausage for dinner.

Call me crazy, but something about a martini bar in northern Wisconsin doesn't scream financial success.

Then again, the Red Carpet in St, Clooud does have that martini lounge on the top floor...

There's a martini bar at the carpet?

Amusingly enough, we also have the tapas.
It's pretty sweet, brings in a decent crowd.

I'd rather have "ta-tas and martini" Saturdays.

Pork chops and sweet potatoes were a success; I didn't bother peeling the sweet potatoes and they actually tasted better.

Well, evening, Lodge. Friends came back over tonight and helped me clean up some more. More boxes ready for Goodwill, my kitchen and dining room are clean, my cupboards are organized and all the outdated processed food has been thrown out. Still have more to do, but I like the fact that I have space to move around now...

Next time, go find AB's recipe for sweet potatoes with chipotles. Super yummy. :)
