Good morning <strike>vietnam</strike> lodge!

Is the lack of strike functionality because I'm posting in a poll?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

Morning Lodge.

Starting combining yesterday. When I got home from work I had to take over for my dad for a while, because he had to go get a truck out of the shed. When I got to the field my dad said to only fill the hopper up about half way because there was a pipe sticking out of the township road that he didn't see, which put a 3 inch diameter hole through one of the duals. Great way to break in a brand new $300k machine. Then I only made 1 round until I lost hydraulic pressure, got out and found that I blew a hydraulic hose somewhere up above the front axle. We just went home and watched football. John Deere can come out and fix it, it only has about 6 hours on it.

:eek:What else is there to say about that?

We know the lead female singer in Freezepop- techsyntho band that supposedly did a lot of the music stuff on Rockband or some video games. Googled them after you all were talking in here last night about music and they were the first hit on Google. Does this mean I know someone famous?
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! terrible tuesday is here.
In fact, you do. Liz Enthusiasm (obviously not her real name) is quite famous in not only the Boston Synthpop scene, but a growing synthpop scene in the US. One of her bandmates (who recently left the band) was the project manager on at a small company that produced the game Amplitude, which led to a more developed game known as Guitar Hero. ... I'm sure you've heard of it. :p Anyway, he recently left the band because Harmonix (the company that produces Guitar Hero) has grown so big that it required all of his time and he could no longer tour with Freezepop. (I may have been a fan/stalker/groupie of the band while in college. :o )

SG - I had a long post about how much I'm offended by your post in TRP, but I erased it as I have no desire to start a flamefest in the Lodge and am sure that I won't change your mind regarding the subject. I may post it in TRP later if the subject continues to be discussed or just send you an email and keep things off the board entirely.

i avoid those people like they had open sore herpes!! every year so far i go stand by myself away from everyone else. girl kids me that the only parent i talk to is a woman who comes up to me and forces herself on me (hey, what can i say ;) ). everyone else may get a nod from me after the game if we pass each other. i can't stand the yelling at refs, the 'my kid should be this or that...'. they all suck ***. i thought i was safe saturday, standing all alone next to two people (lucky me)  didn't help they were at that two rink joint in tewksbury off demascus road or somesort. really no where to go there except against the glass so you have to get near someone.

again, just lucky me.

"i don't know the father..."

I coached at the pw level for one year. I will never make that mistake again.

My friend is head of a youth baseball association. One year after the draft a parent (of an 8 year old) stood up and complained of the team his son was on. The father said "my son has D1 aspirations and the team he was drafted on lacks talent and will no doubt hold him back and that is unacceptable."

ouch!!! At least the boys in Green came out to fix the hydraulic hose for ya.

What are you guys taking out anyways?? I know around here a lot of guys have been cutting corn for silage, and the soybeans are starting to turn yellow.

We have soybeans ready. 60+ bushels/acre @ ~11% moisture. We already have corn that is about 25% moisture that is predicted to go about 250 bushels/acre. Needless to say, we've had just about a perfect year. By the time the corn comes out it won't need to be dried and it will be running in record yields.

Morning, Lodge. Going out to play lumberjack for a little while (splitting some firewood, and some applewood to use in our charcoal grill), and otherwise enjoying the very nice late summer/early autumn day.

More like the father has D-1 aspirations for his kid; if I have kids, I pray I don't try to live vicariously through them.

Good afternoon, Lodge. Packing up some of Mom's stuff and getting it out of here tonight. Just not sure I have enough boxes, bags, etc to move it all...

Back from semi-annual dental hygienist checkup. An absolutely gorgeous late summer day in Denver. Good morning. :)

Here in my neck of the woods things are looking very impressive. Rumor has it that only about 90% of the sugar beets will be harvested/procressed due to the awesome season. (The processors do not have capacity for the other 10%) This is good news because if the farmers have a good or great season that money trickles down throughout the community/economy. With the season being nearly perfect that will also offset the need to spend on other areas like LP to dry the corn etc.

However, we have had lots of rain lately and I just hope things don't get worse..............

Lesson learned: if a landlord offers to dock part of your rent if you paint the place, just say no. It's a pain in the arse and in the general scope of things not worth the time and effort.

Long time no see, Lodge. So I've been at my new job for a week, and already like it a lot. I get to serve dinner to a bunch of Navy-related bigwigs tonight which should be interesting. It's looking like Marinette Marine is going to get a really big government contract to build the next naval warship, and Marinette Marine & Lockheed Martin etc's place of choice to stay is my b&b.
Bauer is driving me up a freaking wall, but he's starting to slowly mellow out slightly.
Thinking about getting a second job for something to do at night, as my schedule at the Inns is only about 30 hrs/week.
