Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

I just like to actually see my food when I buy it, especially for meats and produce.

While you should never go shopping hungry (like I did), it does lend to buying stuff you are craving. Mixed up some burger, spanish rice, serrano peppers, jalapeno peppers, chipotle cheese, and some salsa.

It's delicious and has a nice kick to it (2 serranos and 1 jalapeno for about 3/4 lb of burger, 1/2 lb rice).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Greetings from the Cape. It's still ridiculously windy here. I thought it was supposed to die down today. Can't sit on the beach, the blowing sand is painful! So we sat by the pool again, which became like a wave pool due to the wind. Thankfully it did not prevent me from getting some sun!!

Heading off to an early bird dinner with the family.

And wow, does the hotness factor increase on reheating that concoction. It was okay the first time around; this second helping is making me sweat a bit. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

- And then today, California of PA at Saginaw Valley. Decided early that I wanted Saggy to win, solely because it helps out GVSU later on come playoff time, right Diva?? ;) Anyways, I feel dirty to admit it, but I was all but actively cheering for Saggy. And I may or have not actually clapped along to the SVSU fight song. *convulsion*:p Anyways, Saginaw manages to snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory, as the Vulcans were able to come back to tie things up, force overtime, and then Saggy goes and misses the extra point that would have forced the second overtime..

2nd mtg ever between the schools.. sag won at cal in the 1st year or two ago i believe

I could never do that. I'm an aisle-walker.

Call us back when you get a Hoveround. :p

You could make some wicked burritos with that, sounds like.

Evening, Lodge. Hope you're all having a great Labor Day weekend!

I thought about it, but decided to see how it turned out first. The cheese (added last, with the rice and burger heat melting it) really helped it stick together a bit, so it would be a good burrito with little spillage.

The peppers at the store seemed subpar this time around. I had to dig for ones that looked healthy. The pablanos looked horrid so I didn't bother with those, and don't get me started on the habaneros.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Hey, Lodge. Came back home for the weekend to go through my massive amount of clothes. I have a lot of UND and Tech stuff. Also, my mom mentioned that her new intern has been living on her own since she was 14 and is really poor and could use help with her wardrobe, so looks like she's getting a whole lotta new stuff to add to it!

Preparing for life in MSP... anyone got any advice?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

local paper columnist back home predicted a vulcan victory.. i wasn't quite on board. interesting that walt harris is on the coaching staff at cup this season.

well, I was there and am of the opinion that Saginaw Valley snatched Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. Saggy had the ball on the 20 when the game was tied with about 1:47 left on the clock and they turn the ball over. They had the wind at their backs. If they just hanged on to the ball there and settled for a FG, the Cardinals would have beaten those pointy ear devils. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Hey lodge. This weekend has been great, very laid back. I've just been hanging out with my old roommate and his friends and family. Weather kinda sucked yesterday so we watched football most of the day and drank beer. The people here are big fans of nordeast. After the weather got better we shot some guns, and got my .12 gauge sighted in. Ended up heading into to town to watch the cover band and socialize with the locals. Drank quite a bit, it was a good time. At one point my roommate said "dibs on the other one, you'll have to settle for my sister". I didn't do anything.with his sister but i thought the line was funny regardless. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Actually, i've probably told him that before! He probably wasn't shy about following through with it either...maybe I should have tried going after his sister. :p

Hey, if the weather is still bad tomorrow, go watch Machete. Trust me on this. :D

We're leaving at 5 tomorrow morning, then we have 7 hours to drive to his place in the UP and another 5 for me to get back to MN. I just want to be back in time to watch Boise St. and Virginia Tech, which I should make easily, but i wont have time to watch the movie. I'll see it at some point.
