Hello from PA! Tcbg and I sojourned here last night (no traffic or hurricanes, thank goodness). We're spending the weekend with my parents and picking up my car. Tonight is tailgating at the SW-B Yankee and Pawtucket Red Sox game. :)

I used to be able to change a tube in a few minutes. Kept everything in a saddle bag under the seat but I agree it sucks. It gets you out of rhythm

This is the first flat I have had on this bike. I couldn't figure out how to get the front wheel off. Neither could a person who stopped to help. The next person figured it out. It wasn't just loosen the quick release and then spin it a little. You had to compress a spring or something.

On my bike you had to spin a knurled nut on the outer end of the axle before the quick release would do anything

Took the kid to open skate this afternoon and picked up an old copy of "Let's Play Hockey." (Aug 5) Open it and there's an item about a memorial fund for the family of a kid I knew. :(

The kid played for Burnsville and I know his dad real well. The kid was killed when they were head-oned by a drunk driver back in July on Highway 13. Dad used to work for me. :(

After watching a college football game on the tube earlier today, I made a trip to my favorite clothing store as I knew it had a Labor Day Weekend sale in progress. I noticed that my favorite, short-sleeve, golf shirts were on sale through Monday. I was about to buy a few of them when I had an idea. I finished browsing around the store and then returned home.

I sent Santa a quick e-mail telling him that my favorite shirts were on sale and several of them would look good under The Shots' Christmas tree. I received a reply from Mr. Claus, who noted that since I've been especially nice this year, as usual, I could expect to see the aformentioned shirts under the tree.;)

Evening, Lodge. Baked some bread at work, had some beer at home, and I'm going to go hang out with Forky and (presumably) the Brickmeister later this evening.

are you riding a roadbike or hybrid? Your tire change sounds similar to Quiz's Novara hybrid

I've been sipping whiskey/coke. So I am ahead of the game apparently. :D

Did everything I needed to do today except dishes. I shall put that off till tomorrow morning.

My apartment wasn't cleaner than this on the day I moved in.

I will be sipping that later. Right now I'm enjoying the DH brew, watching some college football game.

As is what long weekends are for... I'm already almost done laundry and most cleaning... I'm lucky if I'm this far up on the game Sunday afternoon.

Thanks. However, it's not that easy. ANOTHER friend is having some health issues. Biopsy results will be available early next week.

These last 2 days have been ridiculous for cleaning.

I took out at least 8 30gal bags of trash, got rid of a heavy collapsible fake wooden desk, did 6 loads of laundry, vacuumed the entire apartment, cleaned the bathroom, swept/mopped 2 tile floor areas. Also recycled about 20 cardboard boxes, a VCR, a microwave, and a PC monitor.

The upshot is that I reclaimed a ton of space in my bedroom, a walk-in closet, and 2 hall closets.
