Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

So sorry to hear SB. Hang in there, prayers for you and the family.
Thanks; they are much appreciated.

If it's any consolation, she's having a sandwich up in heaven. She is advising you to do the same. :)
:)

Happy news. Lil had time trials today. Made varsity for his first XC race. He thought he might make JV instead of freshman team. Pretty psyched!
Awesome!

Morning, Lodge. Hopefully today, I'll be able to set a date for a memorial service for Mom along with getting some other things accomplished.

That hurricane sucked. My mother's going to call a few hotels down the Cape to see if we can head down today. I hope so. It's beautiful out right now and the rest of the weekend looks amazing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Huh, the rest of the known free world thinks so:D

This guy just likes to throw his weight around and big people. Most of us are/were in management positions and in healthcare or at least edjicated. He has no idea how foolish he looks (he has a degree in biology but whatever went in 30 yrs ago didn't stick) His pontificating gets old, even to the kids in about 5 minutes.

I think a lot of folks cleared out so you should be able to get a room somewhere.

The wind has shifted here, rain has stopped and its getting brighter out, see ya Earl:D

I don't think they cleared out as much as they never went in the first place. My fear is everyone will have the same idea and we'll get stuck in traffic. I'm throwing things in a bag and heading over to pick up my brother and parents. Talk to you all at the end of the weekend!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Bob,

So sorry to read of your loss.:( Lost my mom about 11 years ago. The only consolation may be that she's not suffering and battling those health problems any more.

Morning Lodge. Glad to hear Earl skipped his New England visit this year.

Congrats to lil! Great news given his past dealings with all the azzhats.

Yesterday was the coldest day I've ever spent at the State Fair. At least it wasn't too crowded. Made the mistake of getting into the bumper boats with the kid and two random teenage girls. My greater mass managed to keep me dry for most of the time, but the kid managed to build enough speed once to build a wake that splashed over my feet when we bumped and put some water into my boat so I was sitting in it. Not fun walking around the grounds with damp feet and butt on that cold day. Only hot drink we could ever find was coffee and none of us drink that. Everything is geared to hot days so drinks are all served ice cold. Kinda sore and tired after all that walking. Oh yeah, the kid won a midway game that got him a large remote controlled race car and that was pretty early in the day so we got to carry it around all day. At least it was better than another dumb stuffed animal that we have no use or room for. Last year he won a couple soccer jerseys that he has worn quite a bit.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Morning!

On today's docket. Finish cleaning up my walk-in closet, do the dishes (dishwasher looks to be broken as of last night), Throw out a ton of garbage from the closet cleanup, haul this heavy take apart desk to the trash, clean the carpet.

On the plus side there will be college football on TV to distract me during the day. Go UConn! :D

Monster'd up, waiting for MNS to show up, and then headed out to meet up with a couple ladies to watch "Machete." After that, I know there's going to be some drinky drinks consumed; it's just a matter of where.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Finishing breakfast and then heading to the gym at DU for a morning workout. There'll be some crowds to battle as single game hockey tickets go on sale at ten o'clock this morning and folks will be lining up to buy those.

After a shower and a change of clothes, there are parts of a few college football games I'd like to catch on the tube. CU and CSU play their annual in-state game, a contest of no importance on the national level, but of interest in this state. I'm interested in seeing the TCU-Oregon State game this evening as I think it may be today's most competitive of the ones involving early-in-the-season ranked teams.

Getting together with family and friends on Monday for a holiday BBQ and to watch the BSU-Virginia Tech game. Looking forward to seeing how well Boise State throws the ball against Tech and how effective Tech can be in limiting the BSU offense. Have a good weekend LODGEONIANS!:)

FOOTBALL!!!! :D

Nice day here in South. Mid-70s, solid breeze, still nice enough that girls are dressed in summer clothes. Great day to be cleaning up in here... I hate the hot weather, but when its sunny and cool in here its awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

I did a guest spot on a radio show in Portland, ME this morning. I could get used to doing this sort of thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

Hi, Lodge. Just wanted everyone to know that I now live in the MSP area. Not that anyone cares or will actually read this or respond.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 120: How do you want to die?

OK so I lied. Brought the Blackberry and can post. :)

Traffic was a pain most of the way here. Took us about an hour longer to get here. Can't check in till 4pm so we're sitting out by the beach and OMG it's SOOOOOOOO windy!!! You know what hurts? Wind whipped sand, that's what. Still, I'm on the Cape beeyotches!
