Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Why is it the airlines can charge an overweight person for two seats but people can bring babies for free and make the rest of the plane annoyed and keep them from sleeping because the baby cries?? They should be charged for that. Or make them pay a deposit and if the baby is well behaved/doesn't cry/sleeps, they get the deposit back. Or something.
As someone who flies to Orlando once a year, I often wonder why there isn't some sort of policy about kids, especially babies, on planes. Also, it drives me crazy when the parents don't bring anything to entertain the kids on the plane and then they go to sleep, leaving the rest of us to deal with their fighting/screaming children. My parents made each of us bring small carry-ons with travel sized games, cards, books, etc. *sigh*

Watched The Lion King this morning with the kids, then played "Lion King" (basically a lot of standing on all 4s and roaring and running around), then had Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches (just Peanut Butter for me), and we just made chocolate fudge brownies for the mom's meeting tonight. I could get used to this!  :o (the exhaustion at the end of the day is killer though)

Thank you. :p I needed some adult humor. It gets a little tough when you talk to 4 kids under 6 all day. :o

Good morning Lodge - it is still morning here on the Left Coast. Flight took off an hour late. I honestly have no problem with that, given the weather in Boston yesterday. What was pretty annoying was there was no announcement of any kind of delay at all. They did make up time in the air and we landed about 15 minutes later than initially scheduled.

What was awful about the flight was the fact that there were baby twins sitting two rows behind me that SCREAMED the ENTIRE flight. Well, most of it. Seriously, I almost went up to the mother to ask her why she was trying to teach her kids that crying wouldn't mean they would get what they wanted at the risk of alienating a plane full of people. Or "do your kids have some random pin sticking in them that is causing them to SCREAM at the top of their lungs?" Or even - "it's 1am Boston time - why aren't your kids asleep??? You are both bad parents for subjecting two small babies to ear pressure pain on a 6 hour flight and totally selfish as well. I'm calling Child Services on you."

OK. It's scorching hot here and I'm off to the pool. Ciao kids! :)

Just use the "Baby Off" button, right on the crown of their annoying little heads.

Yeah. I hate children. Unless they're boiled and soaked in drawn butter.

If you had kids you'd learn to sleep thru that crying stuff:D

 On my new laptop with windows 7. I need another degree, this one in technology to understand all my new stuff.

Couldn't get my outlook to load my email settings. The telephone geek squad was the otherside of useless. Things work out tho- the guy at the store not only straightened that out but also transferred all my outlook stuff from the ldying laptop to the new one free, free, free. I love this guy. I try and get him when ever I have a problem because he always fixes something that I didn't even know to ask for.:p

A co worker brought in a pan of homemade carmel rolls fresh out of the oven this morning. Nothing better than a warm carmel roll covered in butter. They were huge. I had two of them. My office still smells like a bakery. ;)
Jealous!!

Pittsburgh Fans: "Not that impressive. CROSBY!11!!! did it in juniors!" ;)
Sidney was in Diapers when Legg scored on Minnesota.

Lock em in a sound proof box, or perhaps the airlines should start designating certain flights along popular routes baby flights, I'm sure there's quite a few flights to say Orlando that would do well with having a full planeload of families with screaming babies, and maybe flying a little lower so they don't have to crank the pressure so much.

So I went to the gas station for some snacks and there's one of these sitting outside.

The clerk and another guy inside were wondering if it was a Lamborghini or something. I told them the name (I remembered it because you can drive one on Gran Turismo 4) and they just looked at me funny

My childhood neighbor had one of those. 1972, banana yellow. It was awesome.
