Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

My friend and former roommate x4 years at Tech wants me to go with him to his hometown for Labor Day weekend. He lives in a town of about 600 people, and they have a big town festival over the weekend. Street dances, parades, bonfires, drinking, random hookups....yeah, I don't think I can turn that down, it just sounds like way too much fun. :D
Unfortunately, it means I'd have to go to Detroit.

I will any chance I get. ;)

In a town of 600, I'd be careful about who you're hooking up with. They're probably all one giant family at this point, if you know what I mean. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Well that was a more expensive cab ride to the airport than I anticipated. Traffic was a mess. Most likely weather-related.

Hey Ralph, did you post that RPI thread in the Cafe by mistake and then lose out on starting it in DI?

Mookie - are you going to St Louis for the Icebreaker? I just booked my flight.

probably not. i'll have to listen to bernie and bickfords commercials.

That, and depending on how drunk you get, the prom queen could turn into the queen sow pretty quickly.

(Not to mention, it'd be like rolling all the Northern jokes into one orgy dripping with chlagonoherpalsyphilAIDSitis.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

I knew things were bad there but geez... only 600 left?!?  :p
Its south of Chassel, so that's Detroit. Its a town in Detroit.

But I'm not related to any of them, that's what matters the most, well that and any obvious deformities.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

So my boss managed to write a 100+ word sentence without ANY punctuation and didn't have a problem with it. This was for a final draft of a professional report that is being sent to a big client.

I hate my job.

Free WiFi does indeed rule.

Don't try and understand airlines. It'll drive you crazy. When I picked up my buddy from the airport a couple weeks ago, his original landing was supposed to be at 8pm. Due to weather, lack of communication, etc, he ended up landing on a different plane at 11:30pm.

And the rep thing: I felt it was needed, for the reasons I stated. :)

Can I get a round of F Cancer?

Just found out today a friend has aggressive colon cancer. They'll be removing it either this week or next. Shocked the hell out of me when I found out. No good... :(

Fux cancer:mad: Sorry to hear mel.

and on a happier note- Lil and Mr ran a road race tonight and had fun. Sadly I missed it by going to the BB game that got rained out but I didn't get to the race until too late to see Lil. Lil had a blast with all his CC buddies.

So I found out at work today that my favorite exec to work with is leaving and her last day is Tuesday. Why can't it be the **** that cares if I'm two minutes late?

And women don't ignore me...they at least acknowledge me before they say "let's just be friends" :o :p

Yeah, not good. I'm sorry Mel. Really sucks seeing someone go through that. The best you can do is be a good friend and stay supportive.

I don't think he's counting her as a woman.

ding ding ding!

no, please don't try to understand airlines. Any of them. They are all the same incompetent d*ckweeds.

Today, I was relaxing, on reserve. I get a call, it's a scheduler. She tells me that this is my "90 minute call out". I'm like cool, where am I going? She says she doesn't know. I say what time. She doesn't know that either. Fine, call me back when you do. She says they will call me back in 5 and hangs up. 50 minutes later, my buddy (who was monitoring my schedule for me) calls me and says that they have me showing in 40 minutes and departing 45 minutes thereafter. Keep in mind I was 10 minutes away from the house at this point, no uniform, no shower, no nothing. I round up Quiz and we head home. On the way, I call scheduling, who proceeds to dance around the fact that no one called me to tell me I was working, but the fact that they gave me that initial call out absolves them from anything. I remind them that without telling me where I was going or what time, I had no way of knowing when I should be at work. Her response? "It's your responsibility to call us and get your schedule."

*k you, Republic.

Brent, regarding what we were talking about the other night. I know what I want to do, now it's a matter of pulling the trigger and doing it. Walking away is going to be tough.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Thanks, guys.

Whoops. Missed this. Sorry mel. :(
He's one of your kind, too. Man, would we have some epic battles over hockey. He'd get so riled up about the nickname thing. :)

He was really the last person I would have guessed.

While it's nowhere near as personal, the singer/guitarist of a band I'm rather fond of announced today he has leukemia, and that chemo is no longer an option.

This is a ****ty year in the metal world. Dio, Peter Steele, that guy from Slipknot, and possibly Nergal from Behemoth.

I hope your friend pulls through. A pretty good friend of mine beat childhood leukemia. F cancer. In the A.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Sorry mel and Swanny.

If it helps, Swanny, my grandma had the leukemia, and it was fairly peaceful. Still sucks the major cack though. :(
