Morning Lodge.

Guess the trip to Grand Forks was worth it - we got the job. New replacement hospital. Only downside is ~5.5 hour drive away and no practical way to fly there. Nice people, but incredibly ****ing boring drive. Flat fields full of potatoes, sugar beets, wheat, corn or sunflowers for mile after mile after mile...

Stopped in Alexandria on the way up and way back. Didn't see gmann at either the McDs or the Kwik Trip. ;)

I rode in the car with our CEO for over 1100 miles in the past three days. I don't want to go out for a drive today.

5.5 hours from the cities to the forks? How *'ing slow do you old farts drive?

That's a 4.5 hour trip if you go the speed limit and don't get caught in the lakes-bound / rush hour traffic while heading out of Minneapolis - which isn't an issue at all if you aren't on the road after ~1-2pm on Friday.

The project isn't in the Forks. That's just where we spent the night before the interview. We had lunch in the little town (MN side) after the interview and left about 2:15 PM. Got to downtown Mpls. at just before 8, but we lost almost half an hour in road construction tie up near Avon. Stopped twice for gas and peeing. It might be 5.25 hours if you miss the construction. We both set the cruise for 8-10 over the limit.

Good afternoon! It's been a long week so I decided to sleep in this morning. I'm still a little tired, but feeling better than I have in quite a while. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

With Obama in town, the kids flight lesson was almost put off. The runway is .1 mile off a restricted area where students cannot fly. He and the instructor filed a plan and got a squawk code so they(really only the instructor) could fly within the zone but never did. While they were up though someone else did, not sure if f15s scrambled or not but someone is going to lose a license

I would think if you're flying on a non-commuter basis (semi-pro or amateur) then that's a day you should just bag.

----

Got back from the Captials Rink... nothing to report as I had a hard time watching and I didn't have a roster sheet in front of me... some familiar names... couple of UNH and UVM players... one BC kid. I got there 30 minutes before puck drop and it was already packed/SRO. The place, I figure, is capacity 1200 and it was at least double that.

Depending on ratings, you can do it legally like wally's kid did. You just need to be aware of where you are if you are not going to file.

I suppose I should defer to you flyboys... the idea of dealing with restricted space like that gives me the cause of the "humina"s :p

Maybe so but the instructor thought it was a good lesson to learn in the kids case. He's 15 and he knew the rules. Too bad if someone else isn't keeping up with whats going on.

You've never seen the woman ****ed off in a bar.

Even I was afraid.

I would like to take a moment to applaud the night crew for their liberal use of Airplane (and even Airplane 2 - Shatner's "flashing lights" tirade is killer!) quotes to kill the last thread. *applauds*

Thank you.

Out last night with some co-workers. 6am end time. I feel like a bag o'dicks right now, and I rarely get hangovers. It was a good night.

s'upp y'all.

'bout to head to the lao temple in fitchburg. festival today :D :D :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

Common theme today with almost everyone Ive talked to

Well, it started simply with after-work dinner/drinks with a former co-worker who was recently canned (about a dozen of us). Then about 6 of us decided to continue on into the night, encouraged by the guy who volunteered (and pretty much demanded that we all go out and have fun) to DD.

To paraphrase the Bloodhound Gang: 10 beers, 20 dollars, and 30 minutes later....

Feeling better now. A dozen scrambled eggs mixed with jalapenos/habaneros and half a loaf of toast, plus some G2 and a Monster does the trick just fine. :)

You're parking the beef bus in tuna town, if you know what I mean?

Unfortunately, no. The only (apparently) single ladies last night at the bar were in groups of 6 or more, and that wall is dam near impossible to break down. Still a fun, fun night.

Wow! I've seen it--it really is moving.
It is. Left me with a lot to think about.

Excellent.

Afternoon, Lodge. Been to the farmer's market, the store, baked a loaf of bread, went to Bike Time... it's been a great day.

I puked on the side of College Ave. on my way home around 3AM. Keep in mind my walk home was approximately 3 blocks. Good thing I didn't work until 11, granted, I still didn't feel very fabulous then.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

I need a dehumidifier... for the entire city.

Kickball starts next week... I wonder if I can get more than one shirt 'cause i'm going to sweat right through them.
