Several drinks would hit the spot right now. Why? Some thugs threw a cinder block and smashed the windshield on my family's only working car.

That is awful to hear!

Good Evening, Lodge!

*ing humidity and hot weather.

The last wedding I attended was very unique. For starters the ceremony and reception was in a cave (St. Paul).

I saw that place on TV once. It's an old speakeasy, I think? Looked pretty awesome.

Bob - stupid kids.

Got a favorable lease renewal under my door... wrong month on it (the rest of the particulars are right)... got another letter soon after... "sorry about the month, we'll give you a new one next month"... dammit

I think they base their rents on a formula... given that it'll be a november start maybe it'll be more favorable as it's closer to winter.

Having the bride and groom kissing in the doorway to the inn (a beautifully restored barn) during an evening blizzard is the way to go.

Wait, every wedding doesn't have those features? Hmmm...

Every family wedding I've been to has featured snow. Granted, one was in February, and one was in December (Legal's recent ceremony, from which the photo described above comes). The other? May 18th! I am a little worried about my cousin's wedding at the end of October this year...
But a good photographer will help create moments like that. That is why I scout locations out ahead of time, and somethings you cant control. Like my last wedding it poured, but I still managed to get the Bride and groom this fantastic image http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=4214441&id=40527017724

Evening all. It's been a rather eventful day or two. I went to the doctor yesterday for my routine, every 2 week visit, and ended up spending the night in the hospital. Maggie is fine, they were worried that she was trying again to come early. It seems that it not so much that she is trying to be early as my body doesn't seem to get that it doesn't need to practice quite so much for when she is ready. I go back to tomorrow for another test to see if she might show up in the next two weeks.

On the good side, my car finally got fixed. I can now hear the radio again when I am driving. (the road noise from the bad tires and bad wheel bearing was too loud) Oh, and I can drive in the rain again!

I initially read DJ as BJ..................:o ;)
Lol... that was a lot easier to plan. :p

I would love to convert my licence with just a simple test. In illinois in order to keep my CDL I need to show up and do the entire exam again. So I havent converted my licence yet. Only state I know of that requires that, and it kind of makes me wonder what the heck is the point of having a federally regulated licence if Illinois is going to scam people out of it. No reason at all I should have to give up my licence if I have a clean record and I can pass a written exam.
I agree. The license should just transfer over. I wouldn't have minded the written tests in NC so much if there had been some way to easily obtain study materials.

Checking in here - another hellish day of studying. Tomorrow is the end of the semester. The next semester starts Monday. This whole cramming 12 weeks of material into 3 weeks is really tough! :oo
At least after tomorrow you are halfway done! :)

Get one every yr. Bad family history of breast CA. Just screening.
Hope the results are good! Sorry to hear about the dishwasher.

If they charge alot of money, it is because they are good. It's the ones in the the mid range that the ones that are hardest to figure out. And if they charge you less than $1000 run away!!!!!

Funny story about wedding photography. I walked into the Studio behind my apartment yesterday becuase I wanted to get some old images scanned. We started talking, the pages were too big, she said "well I could just take a picture, and then you would get very high resolution". Then I asked for the RAW instead, and it dawned on me, I could just take pictures of the pages (its a scrap book my grandma did, and there are notes all over it...anyways).

So we got to talking and I told her I used to do weddings, but I moved here and with my new job, I dont have time to meet the clients, scout the weddings, process the photos, do the albums, etc etc.

Buttttt she was looking for a second photograper, which is perfect, I show up that day, shoot, she hands me a wad of cash and I am done! I am doing a trial run in two months to see how we work together.
Sweet!

Wow--2 already?? Happy Early Birthday, Little gII!
Happy Birthday gII!!

That is the way to go. Nothing I shoot is posed, except the formals. Which I have managed to get down to 30mins tops, with another 10-15 mins with the B&G, which there is very little posing, mostly I just let them interact and take my shots from that. I might say. Go sit on that bench, or go fly this kite, but that is about it.

It is far more relaxed for the B&G and me. And it makes for faaaaar better photography. People relaxed and happy.

I think its why sports to weddings was not really a difficult transition for me. Find the action, antipate the action, be read for the action. Its not like you can ask someone "Hey could you score that FF game winner again, I was busy playing with my camera settings, cause I a knoob".

( I was going to dig up the Denver game winner....which is that really the last FF I have been too, sadness!)

And table shots, NO ONE CARES PEOPLE, do you really want a picture of me eating. The only reason I cant get couples to completely ditch the formals all together is the older generations will pitch a fit.

Looks like you made a real good choice.

What he said. I was going to post that this picture and the one of my maid of honor and I running up the stairs in the snow are my favorite two pictures of the entire wedding. Our photographer did a lot of 'fun' and different photos. We really didn't have a lot of formals done, and even some of the formals were less than formal.

We also got really lucky with the pricing of the photographer. It was December so we were able to book her at basically half her regular rate. She was worth every penny we paid.

:( Hang in there! And tell Maggie she definitely wants to wait until this heatwave is over. (That should hold her for at least another week or 2!) :o

Finished the semester today. :) Grades should be posted on Monday (1st day of new semester).

I loved your wedding pix. I was so sad to see that the slideshow is no longer on the photographer's website. They seriously made me cry the first few times I saw them.

Thanks! I'll try to bring the DVD to Mom's next weekend. It doesn't have the slideshow, but it does have pretty much every picture she shot.

Wedding Photos: I like the formal ones, as long as it doesn't take a day and a half. And the older generations whine about it, because it can show the whole family. For example, at my bro's wedding, we had 3 generations there, and if my cousin would have waited just a little longer for his wedding, we coulda had 4 generations present. That's pretty cool to me.

SB: that sucks, man. What's with thugs and MI lately? First Twitch, now you.

Agreed. But sometimes taking that picture takes way too long if the photog doesn't have his/her shít together.

Making dinner after packing up the bathroom (for the most part), most of the cooking utensils, a bunch of the pots/pans, and most of the school supply (other than the stuff in my bookbag).

Ooo ooo, can I be "That (background) Guy"? Nothing silly, but just be in the background (near or far) facing the camera? :D

Well, how about this. There will be a max of 3 thumbs up, all in appropriate situations. And when I say Background Guy, I mean Background Guy. Get people to say, "Wait, isn't he in that other picture, too, way in the back by that tree? And that one? Even THAT one? What's with this guy?" Not single foreground picture. :D

Went out for a few drinks tonight, because it's Thursday. :) Hottie bartender is going on vacation to Brazil for a few weeks. What am I going to do on Thursdays now????

I just had a sandwich from Boston Chicken, wait...it's Boston Market, right? It hit the spot. Now I need to pack. Heading to Cape Cod tomorrow. Looking forward for a few days on the beach!!

Question - Oreos or chocolate ice cream?
