Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Its Sunday, shouldn't you be out riding your bike:D
Looks like a nice day here, sun is out and I woke up:p

I have stuff to do, and it's going to be in the upper 90's. I did go out for 2 hours while it was still dark and fairly cool.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Indeed. I need to get the recipe for dolmas from a friend of mine; they are delicious!

If the recipe calls for using grape leaves in a jar, don't use it. I can send you my mother's.

Decided to go for a walk this morning. It was way warmer than it was forecasted to be. But it was nice. I really should try to do that more often. Now it's off to go food shopping.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

It didn't. Hellacious drive to work tonight too... insane rain. Between 10-11pm, the airport got nearly 2" of rain.

Dammit!

Clearly that means you should get more serious about replacing the car then. That will get it work better in a hurry.

I would like to be more serious about getting a new car, but I have no idea how I will be able to finance it.

Good Morning, Lodge!

All that wonderful rain you people got in MN is now here in SE Wisconsin.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Makes sense, those temps are hard on the body.

for running, I do fine until the low 90's...then I slow down a lot. Cycling, I like it to be in the mid-80's or lower. If it gets to the mid-90's or higher, I move my workout indoors or wait until it gets cooler.

Last night, Quiz and I went for a run in the rain. Totally awesome.

Does Denver get the humidity that DC does? DC is stifling when its hot like that.

Good morning all!

I think I moved into a nature preserve. In addition to the usual birds, and squirrels, I have seen rabbits, a pair of turkeys with their young, various deer of all sizes including a pair of fawns and Mr. Hit says there's a fox that hangs around too. This is all pretty cool, except when I am trying to sleep in and the dogs think that the turkeys are invading. They won't stop barking until the birds are out of sight. I can't seem to convince them that the turkeys won't attack the house.

We were driving home from Plum's (heading north on Snelling toward Hamline U) last night around 11 and it was insane. A couple intersections (at Grand and at Summit) were in close to a foot of water....I rarely get nervous when I drive but I got a little tense last night. Glad we didn't have to head south or on 494, sounds like that was a disaster.

I was at a wedding reception on the outskirts of Rochester last night during that crapstorm. Apparently a tornado touched down 5-10 miles away from us.

As I mentioned in a couple texts I sent out: thank you, Jack Daniels!

You couldn't even see across the parking lot at times.

Look for a car that will be New to You. Would have to figure there's a dealership around you that has a lot of used cars for sale, that were either returned back due to financing, Repoed outright, or were cars that got brought in to take advantage of some of the newer deals they have going on now. Odds are you'll find something thats newer thats far more into your price range.

Start posting pictures of thanksgiving dinner around. They'll get the message. ;)

You had half the bottle dranked, walked out to the oncoming storm, told the twister that you are the Hoven, and you just wanted to drink with it, and tossed the half emptied bottle into the twister, where it went and changed course to avoid you, didn't you?? ;)

Not quite. But I was feeling pretty good, thanks to the bartenders. I ordered a Jack/Coke, they couldn't find a shotglass to measure it out (this was at an Elks' Club, kinda like a VFW), so they eyeballed it. By pouring a third of a glass (and later in the night 1/2 glass) of Jack, then adding the Coke. And charging $3.

And here we go with the weather again. At least this time I've got ~2-3 hours notice.

Hoovs, those kind of places will do things like that. Those are also the kind of people that you tip very well.

Yeah, I know they do, but sometimes you run into a party pooper. :p

And you're probably getting what we got last night. Have fun with that!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

No, this one is rolling up from Chicago. They've got tornado warnings on the western side of the state, and the radar looks like it did the last couple storms we've had.

So a few years ago my buddy gets married at Madden's and at the reception I notice Basil Hayden is one of the Bourbon choices. My sister had recommended it to me so I ordered one on the rocks. Bartender fills a plastic beer glass up with ice and proceeds to fill the cup with Basil. For that and a red wine for the boss it was $12. He was obviously a rookie and I tipped him good because I knew I was pretty much done for the night. :D

Yep, so much for my idea of running the weedwhacker around the horse lots to knock down the weeds that the horses won't eat by the electric fences. Got other things I should take care of first this afternoon.
