Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

Jiffy Lube blows ***. Somehow, during the course of an hour long oil change (!!!) they managed to make my AC stop working. I called them when I got back to work and the manager insisted they couldn't have done anything to it.

My reply: "Well, it worked great when I drove in. You opened the hood and now it doesn't work. Let's do the math here."

He didn't like that and told me he couldn't do anything, but that I was welcome to call the district manager. That guy has an angry voice mail message waiting for him. If I don't hear back by tomorrow morning I'll call 25 times a day until they fix it to make me go away.

ETA:

I never go to Jiffy Lube. Ever. But I'm way overdue and am heading to NY this weekend and don't have time to do it myself. Plus this place is about 1 minute from my work.

This story will be even better if it ends up not having been their fault. :D

That reminds me. The truck is overdue for an oil change. Let's see if I can get through the day without wrecking something on that.

I had a customer that supplied several quick lubes with bulk oil, pumps, filters and such. If you knew what I know about Quick Lubes, you'd stay away from them, far away:D

For those of you in cityslickerville..........storms are beginning to form in 320land as I type this .........

Again: it worked, they opened the hood and did stuff, then it didn't work.

In the hour I had to wait, I noticed a lot of socket wrench action going on. It seemed odd, considering you don't need to use a socket wrench to open the oil cap or unscrew the oil filter.

Never had any problems with Valvoline joints. Issues with every other type, though. Especially Jiffy Lube. My Aunt had to call a tow truck a block or two from one because they forgot to put oil back in.

Good to know. Mr. wore Black is up in St. Cloud/Foley/Gilman, ie home for him, this week.

Good Afternoon, Lodge! It is hot outside.

Well, I know that Toby Keith's is in SLP.

And I know it's close to your work.

But I have no idea how to get there.

And, an air traffic controller doesn't control airplanes?

And you are not in the midwest?

What are they paying you for?

I think that is close to a box. Heh. Kinda summarizes your life story. :D
I know where the airport is. It's what entrance to get onto the field to get to the tower. BTW TK's is almost as close to you as it is to me (off Cedar Lake Road and Park Place...Shops at West End), so not really that close to where I work (not really that far either though).

I will not be "guiding them all over the midwest." That's Minneapolis Center's job. I get a (assuming here) small 30 mile radius around Bismarck at most.

RED WING — One of the most accomplished players in the State of Hockey quietly called it a career earlier this month.

Johnny Pohl, who was born in Rochester and grew up in Red Wing, accepted a teaching job at Cretin-Derham Hall on June 11 that effectively ended his playing days. Assuming there isn't a change of heart, the 30-year-old's final game will be a 6-5 overtime loss to the Texas Stars in Game 7 of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Pohl played the 2009-10 season with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. He was the team's fourth-leading scorer with 20 goals and 33 assists in 66 games.

"It was actually a very easy decision," Pohl said. "I just didn't like playing anymore. I mean, I still liked playing, but I didn't like the traveling part of it."

Good afternoon, Lodge. The stitches come off today, which means I can stop using this idiotic sling.
Yay!!

Don't they need one to get the drain plug out? But even so, there should only be a little socket action, not a lot.

No storms. It's sunny as all hell out. And still about 85 degrees and very humid.

I'm not pleased with this.
