Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

I actually put my AC on today! It's muggy out today. We're expecting more thunderstorms later.

Went to my church's festival last night. Mmmmm. Good food. Went with my unrelated cousins. Haven't seen them in a while. We had a nice night.

Got home, saw that my brother was online. Checked in with him, he tells me he got a job. Yay for him. So, he's not coming home in July. He's going to come home late August after the show finishes up. Talk about Opposite Girl - right before I left the office yesterday I put in for some vacation time. I took three days off the second week of July because he was going to be home. And I took a week off at the end of August for the Emmys. Great. So, he tells me to book my flight the day after the Emmys and he would fly home with me. Now I guess I will take the week before off. Naturally, since I waited for so long, I wasn't able to use my miles for the flight. I think I might wind up taking Fridays off for the summer. Or plan another trip.

Off to the Toyota dealership for an oil change and to have them check that air pressure gauge light thingamajig that keeps coming on. Pain in the neck.

Make sure they also check the accelerator belt. ;)

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

I bought some more Baltika. The same one as last time and No. 9. I get to the Polish grocery store and the clerk said to me, "Back for more beer?" I was only in the store once before. I also did buy 5 bottles last time.

So an update on the bride in the hospital:

She has kidney stones that were probably caused by gastric bypass surgery she had in December. She has been having health problems since the surgery, and she was in the hospital earlier this week. It sounds like the wedding will be postponed to either this fall or even next summer.

Speaking of Baltika, I found four different varieties of it here and bought one of each kind.

It'll come in handy at a party today.

Did you get the one that begins with Zhj......? That one took me a bottle and a half before I felt the effects. I also slammed the first bottle down.

I got the 3, 4, 7, and 9. All different looking bottles and different sizes. I'm pretty sure I got the one you're asking about though.

Evening Lodge. Back from the wedding, which was a nice little 36-hour diversion from reality.

Funny story about my hotel room. Thanks to Hotwire and the offseason, I wound up with the equivalent of a small apartment for $65. Totally unexpected. :D

'Diva: Ever been to/heard of the Omelet Shoppe? Friends and I went out to breakfast there this morning before going our separate ways, and it was good.

LOVE the Omelette Shop!! By far one of my favorite places in TC. :)
And since when is the first weekend in June the offseason??

I have absolutely no idea, but we somehow got the offseason rate at this joint. The rest of our friends spent $90 for the privilege of a double at the Days' Inn.

We also "pre-gamed" at the Mackinaw Brewing Company (one pint, so not really pregaming) between the ceremony and the reception. Nice pale ale there.

Yipes! Hope she gets well soon!

Evening, Lodge. Simple grilled cheese for dinner; needed something easy after trying to feed a hungry mob today in the store.

I'm debating my options re: dinner. Carryout is out of the question. I spent almost $100 last month eating out, usually $15-16 a pop at Jets. That's got to be cut back. If I had any motivation whatsoever I'd make stuffed shells tonight instead of tomorrow.

Do you ever have any back up foods? I always make sure to have frozen pizza, pirogues, other frozen foods, and miscellaneous items in the pantry as a great back up plan.

Bob: Thank you for your thoughts. How is your mom doing?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

I got groceries today. I've got backup foods. I just don't want to go diving into the frozen pizza two hours after I got it home. I'll conjure up something, I'm just not sure what.
