Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

Probably should of just used CTRL+ selections and SHFT+ selections to select around the data you wanted to leave in tact.

How old of Excel did you have? I don't believe that feature was in 2003. Unless you had added a VBA script to do it.
I have no idea what version of excel it was on. It isn't something I use alot, but I remember doing it at some point, could be a long time ago. It is just frusterating because this work I'm doing in this spreadsheet has taken about 2 hours longer than it should because I have to use this new excel and I have no idea where anything is, how to change formatting and I can't get the graphs to look professional, instead they look like they should be used in a 2nd grade class.

They probably should of asked someone familiar with Excel to do the work then. :p

I use 2007 at home and at work (and used 2003 before that), so I pretty much know it inside and out now.

Not sure what you mean by 2nd grade graphs. I might be able to direct you on making changes if I knew what the issue was.

Something tells me that if I started taking pictures of them there would be unintended results that wouldn't be too pleasant.
Ahh... you're scared of the BF's, eh? :p

You'll have to come visit when they're around and then just use your imagination. :p
While I'm all for road trips, that's a little far for me to go for a visual. :(

Well, I'm familiar with excel, the old version. :p
I don't do the really complicated excel stuff, but we use excel to manipulate all of the data we get from engine testing. Basically formulas and graphs is the stuff I do in excel.

And the graphs, they don't look crisp, they look soft and rounded, like if you were to draw one by hand with thick tip sharpie instead of sharp pencil. I don't like the font used on the graph, again for the same reasons, and I can't figure out how to change the default, so I have to change every little text box on the graph. Overall I get the impression that microsoft tried to make this new office more like mac, which just makes it tough to use, IMO. Everything worked fine when they had drop down menus, since everything was logical and easy to find, so they have little buttons all over the top and you have to click though tabs to find the button you want, and even then it seems like not everything is there.

Using this new stuff here at work is making me much less likely to ever buy a new computer again. Have to keep on hoping that the 9 year old Dell laptop keeps chugging along with its windows xp and easy to use office. :(

No, they weren't very intimidating. :p
I'm just trying to be a good roommate, and not make them feel awkward about having a random guy living with them. So far it is going well and we are getting along just fine. It would be a miserable summer if I didn't get along with them, or ****ed them off somehow right away. Besides, how can I expect them to introduce me to their friends if they think I'm a creeper? ;)

Yeah, you just need to use it more to get used to it it sounds like.

You can set the font and other options permanently, and simply save them as templates that are reusable. The data being the only thing that changes.

If you put the chart in a new sheet, the "save as template" option will be visible as part of the chart tools sub ribbon.

You can also make crisp border lines if you want them, you can even choose the color. Or you can make them fancy 3D styled ones.

All of the chart options are either via right-click or via the Insert ribbon.

I'm just trying to be a good roommate

good roommates don't shoot their load in anything without first asking.

that's the golden roommate rule. ;)

The first episode of "The A-Team" is on TV right now. Face is played by some guy who kinda looked like Tim Matheson, and is now a mortgage broker. Odd.

Also odd: seeing Mr T (as Bosco) explain to a bunch of kids about Hanibal crossing the Alps.

Apparently I'm everyone's lightning rod of hate this week. Anyone else wanna get some neg rep out of the way? Feel free. :D

GoMaine24 didn't like my/bbdl's Ovechkin joke in the last Tech thread title, I guess.

He's an idiot. Left me negrep "Nope" for my post suggesting that JVR scored at least one goal in college.

Good evening Lodge.

Work is still incredibly busy. Not sure when it will end as I have become follow up boy to the big dog regarding all the projects going on corporate wide and what not. Good problem to have as it is providing me some great exposure and offering me some great experience..............Just as long as I do a good job and if I remember to keep the s&ss at home and not have Crown and bong hits for breakfast and if I remember to............. :)
