Morning, Lodgerinos.

Going to be an absolutely gorgeous day today (blue skies, sunny and warm with a high in the low 80s). Way too nice to be inside. I'm thinking I might take a "mental health" afternoon, go home, put on my swim trunks and my flippy floppies, and hit the pool.

Be sure to have some tunes. I recommend "I'm on a Boat". :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

A fun weekend ahead for The Shots. Our good friends have a son whose high school lacrosse team has made it to the state championship game, which will be played late Saturday afternoon at Coors Field. We're scheduled to attend a fundraising dinner immediately after the game, but doubtless, we will be late for that function. Fortunately, we have a great excuse for being late: the two people who are hosting the dinner are our good friends whose son is playing in the lacrosse game. :D [They've made some calls in the past forty-eight hours to get people to cover for them until they arrive after the lacrosse game.]

On Sunday afternoon we have two more good friends who are hosting a party for their son who is graduating from high school as well.

We've arranged our schedules so that we have Monday as a day off so that we can play another round of golf. The weatherman seems to be in summertime mode as the temps are forecast to hit the 80s and beyond for the next four days in Denver. I hope everybody enjoys their weekend.

And GO HABS!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Good Morning, Lodge!

Craptactular weather down here today. My moronic husband didn't close the windows last night and it rained on my printer and books.

Have a good day!
Ugh! Do you have a dehumidifier? Put your books near that in a small room with no circulation. Check on it every few hours and flip through the pages so they don't get stuck together. :o (You get to be a pro at this when your apartment floods :o )

Man, I need coffee. I misread "books" as "boobs". :o

Thank Parise it's Friday.
Yeah yeah yeah -- searching for boobs elsewhere now. :p

Morning, Lodge! Finally finished with finals, so I now only have to concentrate on my Microbiology class over at Simmons rather than trying to concentrate on that and study for my final exams over at UMass-Boston (and commute all over the place via T!!). I'm quite relieved. After I finish printing stuff out at the library here, I'm headed home to empty the dishwasher and do about a week's worth of neglected dishes. Then I have to tidy up the place a little (looks like a tornado swept through it) and go through the pictures from my sister's graduation last weekend and mail her off a CD of them.

THEN I can relax and go to New Hampshire for a long weekend. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Hi kids. Happy Friday. It's beautiful here today. Looks like it's going to be an OK weekend. I'm babysitting my nieces. Well, babysitting is not really appropriate. They're 16 and almost 12. So, they're hanging out with me. We're going to see Shrek tonight and tomorrow we're going to the New England Aquarium and tooling around the city.

'ewe, I would say you should have called me and I would have met you at the gate to get you into the ballpark, but the game moved so fast that by the time you got there the game would have been close to over! Another time.

I hate work drama on a Friday morning. Nothing big, but I was hoping it would be quiet today as I'm dragging a bit this morning. I could not get to sleep last night. Not sure why. I had a cup of coffee at lunch. Does caffeine stay in your system that long?

No.

But, you've been stressing a little from what I've gathered from your posts, so that's probably it. Have a feckin' mah-tini, and sleep tight tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Morning Lodge!!

Off to Fargo, ND for my buddy's wedding. Might be around might not. Hopefully I'm too busy to be. Also, hopefully, I get the tentative offer letter from the FAA this weekend too....

Possibly, but I didn't feel stressed. I mean, I've had nights where my mind is racing becuse I'm thinking about work and stuff. When I got home from the game I was watching TV and wasn't feeling as tired as I had been all week. I realized it was midnight and was like "I need to get to bed!" Eh, it happens. And no martini tonight. Did you not see I will have young 'uns in my care? I don't need my sister-in-law finding out I had her kids in the car while I had a martini. :) Though maybe when we get home from the movies........now you've done it, putting that thought in my head.

Well, I've never met her, nor even seen a picture, so whose wet boobs do you think I was thinking about? :D :p

...and now I need a cold shower. This must be how Mookie feels all day long...

EDIT: Also, congrats on finishing your finals. A tasty dinner awaits you in NH (well, the ingredients for a tasty dinner; I've yet to cook it, obviously). :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Good morning tLodge and Happy Friday!!

I believe he came from Milwaukee, and is, in fact, merely Mike Cameron's shadow.

Indeed. I am loving the recap as I take a break from housework to have some dinner. No more NESN here, so I have to get my Red Sox action via alternate means.
No NESN?!? During baseball season? That sucks. :(

Ugh! Do you have a dehumidifier? Put your books near that in a small room with no circulation. Check on it every few hours and flip through the pages so they don't get stuck together. :o (You get to be a pro at this when your apartment floods :o )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

So that's what the kids are calling it these days, ehh? :D

Actaully, no. Dinner is just a warm meal to celebrate the end of her first chunk of classes, and to reward her for the admirable hard work she's put in this semester. Dinner is just dinner.

Dessert, on the other hand...

Legal - you probably should skip this and my previous post. :p

LOL... too late. You really need to put the post warnings at the TOP of the post!

And as far as my being embarrassed by these sorts of posts, I don't think you have to worry. As long as you aren't getting into TMI details, (which I am pretty certain 'Ewe would NOT appreciate as well) I can handle the posts. :)

(now if The Sun were making these posts... well, that would be a different story. :p )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

That on top of living in Wisconsin is grounds for the use of leathal force. :D

When I bother-in-law (yes, that is intended) comes down here I can go to the trunk of his car and grab one of his guns.

Ugh! Do you have a dehumidifier? Put your books near that in a small room with no circulation. Check on it every few hours and flip through the pages so they don't get stuck together. :o (You get to be a pro at this when your apartment floods :o )

I unfortunately do not have a dehumidifier, but I will take your advice when I move evenutally. The good part is that the books that are wet are just spec and swatch books and I can replace them with just a phone call.

What a wonderful day so far... On my way to work I got stuck in traffic in the countryside because someone had to be stupid and run a stop sign and back up traffic. At least breakfast was good.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Morning Lodge. Had a little rain here this AM. We can use it but the humidity is going to be up this weekend. Should feel like summer with 80s and some humidity.:)

But...the rest of us want to hear the TMI details! ;)

{sigh} Got copied on an e-mail from a soccer parent on the team I manage. A dad has volunteered to assist the coach (coach is hired and paid). This parent is concerned because the dad coach was yelling during our game on Tuesday and at practice yesterday he said some of the passes kids were making were "retarded", not the kids, the passes. :rolleyes: C'mon, these kids are not 6, they're middle school kids, they can take a little criticism and can stand to hear a word they use every day being used by a coach. {sigh}

So, in short, you are a soccer dad. That's even more pathetic than being a soccer mom. Keep up the good work Goldy. :D

While I agree that the kids don't have to be babied, there are better ways to teach/instruct.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

8 hours is the timeframe I've heard for caffeine.

If only weed worked it's way through as fast.

Although that would wipe out an entire drug masking industry
