As long as the food tastes good, I don't care if it's healthy. :p

Is she college-aged or has she graduated?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Is she majoring in something that's likely to get her a job, or is she a philosophy major?

Edit: this thread talked too much about weddings apparently - there's a zales ad banner above the thread now. :p

It was gorgeous. :) Despite the nerve-wracking feelings! (who meets their boyfriend's entire family at his sister's wedding on their ... 5th? date?!)
How about going out to visit for the first time, not even really dating yet, and meet the folks, an aunt and uncle, and a couple of cousins the first night; another uncle the second; and his sister and another cousin who was newly engaged?

We paid the whole thing ourselves and did what we wanted. My parents were divorced and my father decided he would pay for a small wedding (up to 30 people) and my father-in-law was in businees in city. Small wouldn't cut it. Kind of freeing, doing what you want. Also weddings weren't the big, ridiculous productions that they make them now so that made it easier. None of the stuff they have cleverly marketed into a requirement like save the date magnets etc.
If we do save the dates it's because the date we're maybe looking at could be a holiday weekend and it would be nice to give people fair warning. Don't think we'd make magnets, though.

The best rule that we established was that if you wanted something that wasn't in the plan, you pay for it yourself. That got a lot of people to shut up.
Great rule!

If I ever get married, it's going to be VERY simple. Mostly because I don't think my family is going to want to put up the funds for a big production, nor would I want them to, and goodness knows that as a teacher I won't have the money for that.
Isn't he going to be the one pulling down the dough? Make him pay for it. :D

thanks everyone. Her dad has given us a budget of 15,000 to work with. We've found a reception place that will fit well within that, so now we're left with a nice chunk of change. We do want to pay for some things ourselves though (photography, cake, a few other things) so that's kind of where we're at.

Some USCHOers are getting invited to this shindig. You know who you are, and if I hear any ontonagons, I reserve the right to stab you with a pitchfork. :p
Ay-yi-yi-yi... :)

We've looked into a few things, just to get some idea of what we're getting into. The cost of things is crazy. Of course, he still has to ask first, but we'll get there... eventually.

Only if she's attractive and has questionable morals.
She is and she doesn't...

So you're sending her to UConn? ;) :p
I think not!

no. girl got me a set of ping irons for a xmas present i believe our 2nd xmas together. at that point i knew she was a keeper. ;)
What the heck did she give you the 1st xmas that made you keep her another year? :p

Besides, I'm sure the Commie can instruct her in the ways of having questionable morals. ;)
