Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Evening, Lodge. Had a great day at work, only to come home and find out that Mom has been having tremors all day and hasn't shown signs of improvement. If this keeps up, I fear that my dad and I will have to put her in a nursing home permanently.
Yikes, Bob! You and your family will be in my thoughts.

Just got back from a 8.5 hour drive from Penn State to Boston. Have spent over 18 hours in the car since Thursday, but my younger sister is officially finished with her undergraduate career. Very exciting! :) Ken Burns was the graduation speaker and he was very moving, I hadn't heard of him specifically, but I'd seen several of his movies (one of the best documentarians ever).

Very few places deliver here - it is definitely the downside to the new apartment. However, I shouldn't be spending money on delivery, so I suppose it's not too terrible.

Ahh, yes. Broke out the grill for the first time this year. Pork chops are on the menu this evening, with a side of corn.

Thanks everyone; Mom's back in the hospital. Looks like a nervous breakdown or something happened with her medication. Either way, I fear she may never fully recover.

At least my arm is healing nicely and the staples should be out on Thursday.

:( I'm so sorry, Bob. :(

Medication and older people is such an incredibly fickle thing... especially when certain people have developed a bag a day chocolate habit  (that's directed at my grandmother)

edit: just hope for the best... that's all you've got.

I think I'm going to go out on a limb and try this...

I'm still digging around to find other clubs, groups, and/or rec sports in the area to do. Gotta find good useful things to do.

Evening Lodge. Sorry Bob. :( Hope it's just a meds issue and they straighten it out soon.

Spent the beautiful day outside today, but in a boring way for me. Kid had a field trip for firearm safety. He got to spend the day shooting guns and bows and learning more about the right way to carry, handle, etc. the weapons. He had fun, I was glad I brought a chair and a book. Found some shade beneath a cedar and read.

If he drove to the graduation, he had a longer drive than you; he lives in NH.

Sorry to hear that, Bob. :(

He was receiving an honorary degree and the President of Penn State couldn't stop praising him...something tells me they flew him down. :p

They were ugly? or they were because the Wife was there:D

Ha! It was more that, in theory, teeny tiny floss-y bikinis are good; right up close in person, though, there aren't that many people who can pull it off. And I'm not going to say "rashes," "folds," or "pimples" -- it's just too gross.

Really? I'd have thought you'd have more authentic Mexican places around you...:p :D

That's what us Yanks miss the most, man. There is just nothing Mexican-wise.

you are one cruel dude.... you know, KNOW, what i want to see!!! and yet you come here bimbo pix-less

I don't know, Mook. Don't you like your chicas to have all their teeth? (Not joking. )

I'd think floss bikinis would be easy to pull off / rip off / bite off.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Sorry about your mom, Bob:(

Howdy Kids
Went outside last night to get a view of the Space Station and the Shuttle going by. Great view once I found it.

<= This slacker actually slept in this morning! ;)

I'm holding off although I have the seedlings outdoors. Maybe later this week they'll go in. No frost here last week but other spots in Maine got hammered
Trots off to the gardening thread
