Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Morning lodge. At the hospital with NMUkat. Undergoing shoulder surgery later this morning.

You or Kat having surgery?

Either way - Speedy recovery!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Of course the meeting was canceled.
Fishing opener means it's time to break out the tubes/skis/wakeboards and pull the kids around the lake - driving fishing people nuts is fun. :)

Yikes. What's with us lodgers and our shoulders? Are you getting rotator cuff work done too. Mine's set for June 1 right now. Good luck with yours!

As to the hunting and fishing stuff, I enjoy fishing so long as it's not too hard (the effort part cited). I like the peace and quiet and being outdoors. If conditions are too difficult (hot, cold, buggy), I'll pass. Never been a hunter but I can understand the attraction.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Burlington has a few microbreweries that are good.
Indeed. I'd like to take a weekend trip up there in the fall. :)

Hi kids. It's Friday - yay! Fun ride in on the T this morning. Got to my stop - it's probably the - for lack of a better term - most popular stop as it's the one most people get out. Pull into the station, get up, wait to get off the train, doors aren't open. The whole car is standing, wating. Then the train takes off. Without letting us out. Held hostage!!! Someone uses the intercom buzzer to let the driver (conductor?) know that our doors never opened. Get to the next stop, which was too far to walk from, had to wait again for some T personnel to figure out what happened and get us off the train. Then we had to wait for a train going back towards Back Bay. Good times.
 Not good. :( Another friend of mine said that his T driver (C-line) was caught sleeping at the wheel this morning.

Checking in from home in Waymart, PA. Just finished making 2 dozen "blue velvet" cupcakes for the sister's graduation from Penn State tomorrow.

When fishing I like to keep one long heavy rod rigged with a big, heavy plug with very sharp trebble hooks to heave at the *hat boaters who come to close while I'm fishing. :p

('Course with my shoulder right now I can't cast worth a dam.:( )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Kat's undergoing the surgery. She's been in pain for four months after an overloaded pan of pasta at work caused the issue.

Just waiting on the doctor and she's scheduled to go under at 11 central.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Good morning. I hope everybody has a good weekend. The weather in Denver looks as though it's starting to turn for the better. April/May is what qualifies as the "rainy season" in the Mile High City and this year has been no exception.

As a Montreal fan I'll be watching the Boston-Philadelphia game later today, but I don't have a strong feeling as to which team I'd like to see Les Habs face in the conference finals. This spring's results are a prime example that you cannot correctly forecast what's going to happen in Stanley Cup hockey.

Have a good weekend LODGEONIANS.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Actually, you can do it with 2 stops on the same trip.
Didn't think of that. :o

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! friday is here. yay
Yay! It's Friday!!! And you're right there is good beer to be had in Burlington. Besides, since when do we have to travel to where the beer is made to enjoy it? Um, anyone ever hear of a store?

Good to know that the T drive is checking his rear view mirrors before taking off from the station. He/she might have noticed all the people waiting to get on the train.

I don't mind deer hunting, but I don't sit in one place all day, that would be as boring as fishing. The "lot of effort" physical activity that I get from deer hunting isn't really a bad thing.

I'll let someone else catch the dang thing, I'll eat it.
I like fishing, I find the casting and reeling in relaxing. However, like Goldy, I won't do it if there is too much effort involved. There are better outdoor things to do if I am going to get eaten alive by bugs.

ooh... that's a good idea. Though, I think I'm going to be rather busy this fall. :p

As much as I hate the Habs, and am pretty certain the B's would choke miserably if we had to face them, a Habs-B's final would be epic. (in the historical sense, not in the quality of hockey sense). But, we all know that the B's are not going to pull it out, so, after tonight, I can totally tune out hockey. (on the good side, I am heading up to the bar tonight, so I should be able to see the end of the B's season.)

Jealous.

She said the C line, not the B line. :)

I have soooooooooo much work to do today. And am totally lacking the motivation to do it. Not bad work or difficult work. Just lots of it (trafficking edits, setting up new print jobs, etc). I just want to do nothing the rest of the afternoon.

Going out tonight after work - co-worker friend birthday. Was supposed to do dinner for another co-worker friend birthday on Wednesday. She said, let's combine on Friday (it would more or less be the same group of us). Glad she said that as it freed up a night this week. A third person who will be going out with us - her birthday was Wednesday. So, it will probably be three if us paying for everyone that has had or will be having a birthday right about now.

I did go out for a martini last night. Just one. It was way stronger than normal, and that's saying something since hottie bartender usually makes them strong. It gave me a headache by the time I got home so I just went to bed. Not bad enough for any drunk posting. Maybe next week. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

next week I am in Indiana all week.

That there's a fine state.

Yes, it's a holiday! Don't you know what tomorrow is? Fishing opener! You have to drive to the lake today so you get out first thing in the morning. What are you from out east or something? Any Minn-ee-sooo-tan should know this!:p

So will it snow? My poor neighbor drags his sorry a55 way up north every fishing opener, and every time he comes back with pictures of him and his friend sitting forlornly in a boat, but you can't see them because of the driving freaking snow. :p

Good luck with the doc, Kat!

Shouldn't. It's a week later than usual this year and the ice went out early so it's like 2 weeks later as far as water temp and fish spawning patterns are concerned. Supposed to be above 70 for most of the State tomorrow. Should be a glorious Opener all things considered. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Crazy morning here. Started off slow enough, and I was just finishing up some online training presentations that I have to look at before I go to Indiana next week. Then I get a call that an engine that I've been waiting for showed up at the wrong building, so I have to get the truck driver to the right place then find the technician to pull the engine off the truck. I was already short on time because I had previously signed up for meals on wheels for today.

I just got done with the engine mess when I had to rush to meet up with the lady I was supposed to deliver meals with. Got there only 5 minutes late. Delivered meals, couldn't find 2 people that we were supposed to deliver to, ended up finding out one was just out with his son and the other was in the hospital and most likely wouldn't be leaving there, she's 104 years old. So that took longer than expected and I was 20 minutes late to lunch with some coworkers (one of which I met today for the first time, lets just say that mookie would be drooling ;) )

Now I'm back at work, trying to figure out what I should work on between now and 4:00.

Go to the "Reform College Hockey" thread and come up with the next list, the current one is almost done. ;)

Done with the interview. Only took 20 minutes, and went pretty well. Afterwards I got to tour the facility and talk to some of the people that work there...I'd fit in pretty well down here. :)
