Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Morning Lodge. Just got offered tickets for the Twins game tonight.
I. Don't. Think. So.

Rainy, snowy and cold is not my idea of a fun night at the ball park. Also, the kid has a hockey game. Kid's going to the Twins game tomorrow with a hockey buddy - at least it shouldn't snow.

BB_DL, I think you should see if Nathan needs a live-in baby sitter. ;)

I don't get along with babies or toddlers, or really any human being under the age of 10. :p

and I want to go to the Twins game tonight! I'll just sit on the Captains deck under the heat lamps and drink! Who wants to go with me? Tickets will be cheap tonight!

Actually I am praying for a rainout forcing a weekend double header.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

ooooh, a Saturday double header would be pretty cool. I'd probably go downtown for that.

Do they even have regular double headers any more? All we usually get are day/night doubleheaders with separate admissions (when they're make ups of rainouts).

I don't think MLB schedules them regularly, they're just like you said, make ups for rain, and in our case, snow outs.

I don't know if I'd actually go to both games tomorrow, if it works out that way, that would get expensive.

I'm sure it would be a day-night double-header. My guess is the scheduled noon start then a 6 or 7PM start.

EDIT -Monday is an off day for both the birds & Twins.

Good morning, Lodge. Went to the doctor this morning and I'm as healthy as ever.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Happy Friday! There's no way it is going to snow here today. The predicted high is 89. Summer is almost here in NC, just in time for me to leave. :)

Why did the night shift leave the Lodge without starting a new thread?
Because they are like the overnight shift at my job, undertrained?

'Morning, Lodge!

I get to meet a Holocaust survivor today. Definite once in a lifetime chance. I'm pretty excited, and I've heard she's a really sweet lady.
Wow that does sound cool!
I have met quite a lot of them.
But, you're old... ;) :p

Hi kids. Happy Friday!! It's a lovely day here in 617-land.

I'm not sure what's up with my phone. Wednesday I had it on during the day. I went to event after work and on the T home I get a text from my brother time stamped 8:45pm telling me about the two BU kids that got kicked off the team. I replied saying "Welcome to yesterday." I was like - um, do you not think I wouldn't already know this?? Then last night, I was at the Red Sox game. Dice K is getting shelled in the first inning so I text my niece as I assume she is watching the game and I said "I wish I was at the game you were at!!" (she and my brother went on Tuesday). She never texted back. I didn't think that was too weird - maybe she had a lot of homework and my brother said "no phone till it's done." It could happen. Anyway, this morning on the way to work I check my phone and see two messages - one from my brother who told me he sent that text on Tuesday night, not Wednesday night, and one from my niece responding to my text and it was time stamped 7:54pm. And I got it this morning. Has anyone else experienced delays in getting texts? Not sure if it's my service or their service.
I've had that happen from time to time. Send yourself a text from your provider's website and see how long it takes to get to you. That might give you an idea if it's you or them. :)

I have met quite a lot of them.

I've met one as well - we read this gentleman's book before my band visited Europe in 2001.

Lets just say we should have the snow blowers tuned up before Halloween.

Heh, I trick-or-treated in that!

Afternoon, Lodge. Long time no see - I've been absent for a while, finishing up work for my college classes.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

:D I surprised my mom. Sent her flowers at work today for Mother's Day. She called and said, "I was surprised to see flowers, and even more surprised to see they were from you".

clearly, she does not consider me to be the thoughtful child
