You should try my wife's approach: just leave them on all the time. When I asked her why she said "because when they're off you can see all the grime and I'd need to clean them."

I did leave them on for the longest time, but then it started sprinkling dust. I cleaned them off and then turned the fan back on right away because it is hot as hell in this room. Also, company is coming over and they are sleeping in this room. It is just courtesy. Otherwise, I wouldn't care.

So, mookie and I are here at this gala fundraiser and there's an all female Aerosmith tribute band called Aerochix. They go on in about an hour.

Thanks and thanks. :)

I think some of it is the beer because I still feel kind of off, but the interview part is over now. Not sure how it went, typical screening type thing. Hopefully should hear something within a week or so. Definitely have to fire off a thank you note to the lady that I spoke with.

Good luck to you both in your endeavors! :)
Hope your interview went well!

Things might be turning around! Just found out my sister got a teaching jjob in New York City through Americorp. The job is for 2 years and they will pay for her to get her Master's in Teaching while she is there. They also give her a stipend! I could not be more proud! (she's very into volunteering and her job goals are "to live a life of philanthropy". She's spent 4 years working for the Special Olympics and special ed. events. She even traveled out to Idaho last winter to help with a winter olympic event and photograph them.)
That's excellent. Hope things start working out for you too!

I actually did something today other than sitting on my computer and watching TV. Thus, I earned my beer.
Exactly. Knowing you did something worthwhile makes your beer taste better.

Evening, Lodge. One more 8-miler tomorrow before the Fifth-Third 25K next week...

Damm you! I have to go get my Nintendo out of storage and play Kid Icarus. I love that game.
I only played it as a rental back in the day and couldn't get past the first boss stage thanks to the *'ing eggplant wizard. Get hit by one of those stupid things, and you're spending the next 5-10 minutes running around looking for the guy that removes it.

What's really depressing is the people that do speed runs of the game and finish it in 30 minutes (and by all appearances, do so without cheating/emulator assistance).

Does your NES actually still work? Apparently you can buy top-loading ones for about $50 these days - though I think it's a *'ing lot easier to just get an emulator and download everything for nothing. :p

I have a top-loading system. I have had it since i was a little kid.

For the F5 next year. Old School Ice Hockey tourney. Only one rule: I am Czechoslovakia!

I don't remember when the top loaders came out, but I want to say that happened in the early '90s. The original console was too susceptible to malfunctions.

I hated how NES hockey forced you to control the goalie. The fighting was hilarious, though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #110: Offseason Is Here, So Deal With It.

You can play most of these old games on Wii now. I have Kid Icarus for example.

Ok, computer geeks. My AIM is crapping the bed. Can't connect. Have done the autoconfigure, it says there's connections found or whatever, and still can't connect. ***?

It did come out in the early 90's. I remember I was 6/7 years old. We all know the best part of the ice hockey game was the zamboni. :)

Someone has to get a new user name. :p :D

Same thing happened to my roommate my freshman year. She had to get a new user name.

Wow, you were born in the mid 80s? Youngin. :p

Brent - you might have to uninstall it / download / reinstall it.

And if I want to play old NES games on an actual console, I'd just buy the top-loading one (new) off ebay or something and pay a lot less than I would for a Wii.

I'll try that. Otherwise time to think of a new user name. That part will be easy.

I know I am a yougin. I am so used to it, it doesn't even bother me. ;) :p

I got it now. Stupid AIM. It sucks. And I lost most of my people on there. Bro Gin gave me all the names before, and now I can't remember his. And Commie and LWB, I lost yours too.

Just add 33 to the end of my old name
