How long are you there at a time? Are you going to be working there regularly now or is this just for the training you're doing?

I'll be there for ten days, then I head to St. Louis for systems/simulator sessions. Good news though...I will get weekends off! :D

Speaking of, there's gambling in St. Louis...who wants to roadtrip and hit the riverboats?

Bring your gun. Not exactly the safest of neighborhoods. :)

Well, you'll miss me by a week. I'll be in the Indianapolis area for work the week of May 17th.
Of all songs to pick, you had to choose THAT ?!?!?
You don't like When Doves Cry?

BTW, lodgers, check out the Reforming thread, I have posted a challenge, lets see if the posts can do it without cheating, even though there is no way to prevent cheating. :p

The old Prince stuff is great, but I don't think you want a bunch of guys talking to each other about "the sweat of your body covers me". :D

So... How was the food? As good as advertised?

Best fried chicken I've ever had, honestly. Fantastic spices and breading, incredibly moist chicken. Just very, very good.

Waffles were good, but the fried chicken was fantastic. Red beans & rice were mediocre at best.

Hey Nathan, I had a question I posted in the restaurant thread on GPL. Bladepuller gave me what I hope is a good lead in Carol's. Kid's are playing an 8 AM soccer game at the NSC in Blaine tomorrow and I'm looking for breakfast nearby afterward. Any good thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Things might be turning around! Just found out my sister got a teaching jjob in New York City through Americorp. The job is for 2 years and they will pay for her to get her Master's in Teaching while she is there. They also give her a stipend! I could not be more proud! (she's very into volunteering and her job goals are "to live a life of philanthropy". She's spent 4 years working for the Special Olympics and special ed. events. She even traveled out to Idaho last winter to help with a winter olympic event and photograph them.)

That sounds awesome. There's a place in Saratoga nearby here that's got some semi-legendary fried chicken (Hattie's Chicken Shack) that I've yet to make the trip up to check out. The chef there was on Bobby Flay's Throwdown and beat him at making the house dish. Flay tried to dazzle things up with sauces to add and whatnot and the guy beat him just straight up with what they make there all the time.

If I'm somehow able to end up in LA for the draft, Roscoe's was on the "must see" hit list.

Steamed Clams and drawn butter for dinner tonight:D

edit: I'm thinking that I'm going to buy some stock in BP sometime soon. If you can't make some money off of an ecological disaster, what is there to make money on?

Spill, baby, spill. :p

Carol's is good food, though I haven't been there since they moved from their old dumpy place to the new shiny place. Last I heard it's still very folksy and country-kitschy, so be prepared for that.

Afternoon, Lodge.

Good Afternoon/Evening, Lodge!

Went out and bought beer. I plan on spending the rest of the day on the patio drinking it. I deserve it because cleaning the ceiling fan was a b*tch. It was raining dust bunnies!

Since when does someone need to do work to deserve a beer?

You should try my wife's approach: just leave them on all the time. When I asked her why she said "because when they're off you can see all the grime and I'd need to clean them."
