If I don't get this house, I'm going to end up living at my parents for at least a little bit, while I find somewhere else to live, which will mean 1 hour 15 minute commutes. :(
That commute gets offset by the home cooking, doesn't it? ;)

Well, kinda. I highly doubt that my parents will ask me to pay for food or rent when I'm living there. My mom will just be happy that I'm around (who knew that I was that likable ;)) and my dad will just ask me to help out around the farm when he needs it and on weekends. So it will end up being cheaper, especially if I can get the new engine in the Jeep and get 30+ mpg. But.....the rumor that my dad is throwing his weight behind is that my mom doesn't cook anymore, now that us kids are gone. Maybe she'll start again, since potentially me and my sister will be living at home this summer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #110: Offseason Is Here, So Deal With It.

Just to clarify, I'd get the $8000 for either of the houses I'm looking at now. Even if my first choice drags on past the end of April, I already have a signed purchase agreement from before the deadline, so it wouldn't matter. The problem would be, now that I have cancelled my offer on the backup house, if the first one falls through, I won't be able to to find a different house before the deadline.

Basically, right now, where I'm sitting, I either get my first choice house, and the $8000 or I get nothing and start looking for another house without the help of the $8000. If I don't get this house, I'm going to end up living at my parents for at least a little bit, while I find somewhere else to live, which will mean 1 hour 15 minute commutes. :(
This is going to sound crazy but 8K is peanuts as far as a 30 yr mortgage goes when the difference is just settling. You don't sound excited about the 2nd house at all. It would suck to put the offer in, get the house you don't want and be there for yrs. Just sayin'

Mr and I got a starter house that we were supposed to be out of in 3-4 yrs. Ended up taking a bath to the tune of a 50% loss when the market crashed (in the 80s). We bought because it was the 'best deal' and were stuck living there way longer than we wanted to. It made the 'deal' a lot less sweet'.

Rascal was at the playoff games in Milwaukee. Roscoe must of had custody of him that day. :D

I cannot complain about the Wolves. We all know that they the better team.

I saw Rascal (but not Mrs. Roscoe) at the 8-1 game at the end of the regular season. Then I didn't remember seeing him for any of the three playoff games at the Bradley Center. Then again, we arrived a few minutes into the first for two of the playoff games.

And you didn't see the Wolves blow two three goal leads in the series, did you? :p ;) The Wolves should have had that wrapped in five, and forced it to seven games.

It was the 6-0 win that I saw Rascal at the BC, or game 3. He was in the pirate ship. Also, Rascal and Roscoe teamed up pull a prank on the Wolves fan. Rascal placed whipped cream onto his seat and the Wolves fan moved and then Roscoe dumped a bucket of water on the Wolves fan's head.

I am surprised that it went to game 7 as well. I agree, it should have ended in 5.

I was at the 8-1 game as well. :)

Oh, thats right, You're on Central time. Opps!!!;) :D :D :D :D :D ;)

Facker. :p

Eh well, I got a Double Stacker from BK right afterwards, and we're having brats and potato salad for dinner tonight. I do need to work on my BMI, but blood pressure is normal (high end, but still), and cholesterol won't come in for a few days. ;)

What les said - don't get stuck with a house you're not a fan of keeping for the long term.

Ish. I have been talking to a team that plays north of the city. I live west, there is a big friggen city inbetween, Wrigley field and lots of traffic. They seem cool, but I dont know if I will kill people trying to get to and from that rink every week.
So if you could send me along information, I am just checking out my options and slowly lowering my standards. The SSWHL really is an awesome league. And I should just accept that most places in the us wont have something like that.
I will say the part of the league that is based in WI looks a little better organized, more games, more tournments, but then I have to drive to wisco. I never cared about driving an hour to games in Mass, but for some reason I dont want to do it here. I am sure once I get to know the area better, or if I find a team I like it will be different.
I think part of it is now if there is a ton of traffic or whatever I dont know how to get around it. Because despite the fact that the streets are gridded, there are quite a few rows that just friggen end, but then the SAME named road picks up 6 blocks later, *** is that!
I contacted my friend down in the Chicago area. His wife plays on a team that's based south of Chicago; he thinks it's about 30-45 minutes away from most of the western area of Chicago, depending upon exact locations, of course. I'll shoot you a rep with my email address and I'll forward you his email to me.

Just saw the stage production of Young Frankenstein. Very funny. They kept to the movie pretty closely, except for the ending. I enjoyed it, especially since it was a freebie. I loved that movie. I need to see it again.

Need to pack as I check out and head home (all 6 miles!) tomorrow.

GLM: I don't have twitter, but I sort of follow yours (via Google Reader). Ever meet this orange furball?

I'm suddenly craving Cheetos just mentioning him.

I feel bad for you following my Twitter via Google Reader, that must be a huge pain in the arse.

And no, I haven't - Youppi is all the orange furball I need.
