Take the same tone with him the Senate committee took with the Goldman Sachs bunch, didja?

:D

THAT was fun to watch! I'm all for capitalism and the American Way, but those guys, if guilty, are prime examples of greed gone wild

Morning, Lodge. I wish I'd known that one has to fast for 12 hours before a cholesterol test - I would have scheduled mine for 10 AM and not 2 PM. :o
HAHAHAHA!!!! Sucker!!!!

Pork chops and Potato Salad for lunch today, then I gotta go report in for clinic this afternoon.

Okay, that's just bastagely. :p Just starting to get hungry now, but at the earliest it'll be 3 hours before I can get something to eat.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #110: Offseason Is Here, So Deal With It.

This might be a silly question, but I'm going to ask it anyway--why do you need to fast before a cholesterol test?

I'm telling you right now, I took NyQuil five years ago. I just came out of the coma tonight before the fucking show!
"Are you drunk?"
"No, I have a cold. Same cold I've had for the last eight years; I just can't seem to shake it. I'm high as a kite and my teeth are green; merry f-cking Christmas!"

:)

This might be a silly question, but I'm going to ask it anyway--why do you need to fast before a cholesterol test?

From GoAskAlice.com:

If you neglected to follow the 12-hour fasting rule by having a midnight snack of olives and cheese, your cholesterol test results will be affected. Scientists at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute have concluded that LDL will be underestimated by approximately two to four percent and HDL levels underestimated by about one to four percent. In addition, triglyceride (TG) levels, another component of the cholesterol test, will be overestimated by roughly 20 mg/dL. Though small, these numbers might seem more meaningful if your measurements are borderline high.

Good afternoon, Lodge. :)

Because after you eat, all of your triglycerides are all up, and would throw off the results of the test, especially if you had something like a Bacon Cheeseburger with Chili Waffle fries. The blood particles they're all looking for would be outnumbered by them. The 12 hours would be about enough time for those triglycerides to be processed by the body and placed into storage by the body, or floating around as LDL or HDL.

I think it has to do with making sure the cholesterol in your bloodstream isn't cholesterol directly from foods you eat (since you can change your eating habits), it's what your body produces itself from digesting those foods. High cholesterol runs in my family, so I won't be surprised if I get tagged too.

EDIT: Ok, I stand corrected. And you really are a bastige, Monster - first you mention the pork chop, and now a bacon cheeseburger with chili fries. :p

dd_bl- go for the house you want. 8K sounds like a lot but in the scheme of things getting what you want is sure more imp because you may be there awhile.

When I got my first post-18 physical before going off to Tech, I had lunch of chicken salad two hours before the appointment, not even thinking about the possibility of bloodwork. So, all that mayo...yeah. Whoops! :o

This explains why Mrs. Roscoe and Rascal weren't at the playoff games this past week!! I was wondering what Roscoe did to get denied custody of his kid for the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs.

By the way... Skates is cooler. GO WOLVES! :D

Rascal was at the playoff games in Milwaukee. Roscoe must of had custody of him that day. :D

I cannot complain about the Wolves. We all know that they the better team.

Just to clarify, I'd get the $8000 for either of the houses I'm looking at now. Even if my first choice drags on past the end of April, I already have a signed purchase agreement from before the deadline, so it wouldn't matter. The problem would be, now that I have cancelled my offer on the backup house, if the first one falls through, I won't be able to to find a different house before the deadline.

Basically, right now, where I'm sitting, I either get my first choice house, and the $8000 or I get nothing and start looking for another house without the help of the $8000. If I don't get this house, I'm going to end up living at my parents for at least a little bit, while I find somewhere else to live, which will mean 1 hour 15 minute commutes. :(
