I've wondered why you haven't gone into something food related also.
Chez 'ewe? ;)

Blasphemy!

Besides brent, state of hockey and I were all very entertained by that conversation! :D

Haha. PB told me to tell you he was shaking his head at you.
The really funny part of it was during that conversation, I went to Walmart, and guess who I saw.

Also, I just determined that I'm retaking Biology and Chemistry this summer. Between those two, and working both jobs, well... goodbye summer. You were a nice thought.

Why are you retaking classes that you'll just fail again anyway, particularly if you're going to work two jobs? Nice planning, Foxton2. :D

Plus you only need one lab science for a biz degree? *confused*

Funny.
Because I need to get my GPA up, end of story.
Hell, with the way this semester is going, even if I get B's in both of them, I'll have my GPA back up to a 2.9. A 3.1 if I rock my finals this semester.

I did not retake MA1161 nor attempt CS1131 a third time, and I still got my GPA back up to respectable numbers by the time I graduated. You have several semesters ahead of you, don't let your cumulative GPA scare you into overextending yourself. Do well in classes that are important to your major and that number will correct itself.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four.

yes we did.. that road, and I84 in NY, are easily the worst ever as far as smoothness goes.

hell, all NY roads.

i never would have guessed that detroit-boston is only an 11.5 hr ride (not cutting through CA). (that includes stopping for gas and diaper changes three times  630a - 600p)
I never would have either... how fast were you driving?!?

@les -   Happy to hear it's out though and that you're on the road to recovery? You weren't having pain there prior? (Though sounds like you guys eat pretty healthy - maybe not enough fatty foods to trigger it?)

@Bob - :( Sorry to hear about your mom.

@MNS - AWESOME! Good luck!

Just checking in. Long weekend, but a good one. Made mini-amaretto cheesecakes, and boxed chocolate cake with homemade chocolate ganache. Spent yesterday doing that and then headed over to tcbg/legal's brother's place for a birthday party for their mom (and FFFF "festivities"). We missed the first period of the game, but watched the rest (and chatted), weren't that into it.

Spent today at The 24 Bowl for the Travis Roy Foundation. Got to meet Travis and spent about 45 minutes talking hockey with him. Great perspective and incredibly articulate. Definitely a hero in my book. Got to hear him give an amazingly moving speech at the end of the fundraiser. The "tournament" met its goal of $24,000 dollars, and my thanks to any of the posters who contributed to tcbg or his team (you can still do so - the link is in his sig).

Quiet evening - watched Live Free or Die Hard with tcbg over dinner and am getting ready for another week of classes.

Also - potential job opportunity for me! :) I've been posting on Craigslist about once a month advertising my skills as a personal chef (thank you, les, for the encouragement) and I finally heard back from a family in Brookline. They want me to cook mostly vegetarian (they eat fish and turkey) meals three times a week. I have an "audition" for them in 2 weeks (week of the 19th). Very, very excited - though I'm definitely going to have to enlarge my vegetarian repertoire. Maybe it'll even get me to eat healthier!?
Good luck with the job!

The chocolate Ganache was totally yummy! I want more. :)

Interesting, take away the cooking and the movie watching and my weekend was a lot like yours. Did you guys get Kelly's for dinner? Rob and I ended up skipping dinner all together. We went to the hotel, checked in, collapsed on the bed and were out for the night.

MNS - Good luck with the job interview!!

And apparently my cats missed me while I was gone. They all are either on my lap or on my desk right now. I'm feeling a surrounded!

I agree with this. ctf, you'll have plenty of time to get your gpa up.

Alright, time for ctf to come clean about the beauty of her sorority.
If ctf doesn't get up to a 2.5 before October 2010, ctf is out for good.

Wow, all the way to a 2.5. Such high standards:p

Hey now.
1) It's Tech.
2) As we all know, I had a really rough semester in the Fall, so it's going to take a hell of a lot to recoup from it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four.

So, I took some chicken out for dinner. But I'm really not in the mood to cook. But I haven't had a real dinner in a while so I should. But since I'm technically still on vacation, I don't feel like cooking. What to do, what to do?

Gotcha - good luck then.

And I'm guessing a 2.5 is the national standard for a majority of Greek orgs/chapters. :p

Call ewe.

Barring that- The old standard- marinate it in Kens, roast for a bit- broil at the end. Yum. Now I want chicken.

Thank you. :) It's quite easy to make. :)

I needed to go grocery shopping, so after about 15 minutes of just laying on the couch complaining about having to go grocery shopping, we headed out and bought a rotisserie chicken with salads for dinner (in addition to the needed stuff - milk, etc). Just had that and watched the movie. We were totally exhausted, and I think tcbg is getting sick. :(

I, too, have chicken out for dinner. I bought some spinach, peppers, and onions yesterday. Planning to hammer the chicken out and then lay on some of those veggies (maybe some ricotta cheese if I feel like it) and then roll 'em up, cover in a light layer of olive oil /salt/pepper/oregano?/basil? and bake em. Probably serve with polenta since I have gotten carried away with buying corn meal lately - though maybe white rice if I get lazy.

Edit - Mark's suggestion is good too. :p

What part of I'm not in the mood to cook wasn't clear? :p les - funny you mention Ken's marinade. That's what I was planning to do. legal's mention of Kelly's made me realize I haven't been there in a while what with Lent/Easter and the Frozen Four. So......put the chicken in the fridge for tomorrow's dinner maybe?
