Good morning!
Best of luck MNS, don't go Norm Peterson during the interview. :) ;)

IT'S OPENING DAY AT TARGET FIELD!!! Leaving here at 11 to head downtown & watch the Twins take on Yankees lite. :p :D ;)

Interesting weekend. Golfed very poorly. Drank at brents. Played cards with some girls that claimed to be in college (though I think by college, they actually meant Minnetonka High School)

What tipped you off? The fact that they couldn't name the college they went to?

Hilarious. I hit a monstrous wall when you guys were doing that.

That was the big hint.

Thanks 'ewe! As for the vegetarian menu, there's plenty of good recipes out there; check out Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything Vegetarian. Good luck to you!
Two steps ahead of you, Bob. I had bought that last year when I decided to go back to school. Because meat is so expensive, I've made a concerted effort to replace it with beans, legumes, etc. That book has been a godsend. I'm sure I'll be using it even more often.

Just met with an advisor (UMB doesn't assign one to non-degree students, so you have to seek one out on your own if you have registration questions, etc). He essentially said that I have no chance of taking the three classes that I need to apply to PA school at UMB. (Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, and Microbiology) He gave me a few other schools to look at (all of which would require a car to get to, which I don't have) and was very nice, but firm in saying that there aren't any ways to bend the rules. The first day that I'd have a chance to register is 5/17 - which is the week that most other programs start. :( Back to the drawing board on this one. I just want to go back to school so I can get on with my life, why won't anyone help me!?

/rant

Sorry - It was just a frustrating meeting.

Good morning Lodge! I took today off to recover from FFFF. Slept in, took myself out to breakfast, read US Weekly, then went food shopping. Now I'm unpacking and doing laundry and will soon start watching the many shows I have in my TiVo. I did check work email as I knew I had one thing to review before I go back to the office tomorrow. This week will surely be a treat. *sigh* Anyway......

- OMG on your gallbladder surgery les!!! Hope you're doing better now. I've heard how painful that can be. You're posting now, so you must be feeling more like yourself. :)

- Bob - thoughts out to you for your mom. I know you've had a tough time of it with her lately. Stay strong!!

- MNS - great to hear about the potential job!! Fingers crossed!

- 'ewe, I believe I was the first to suggest you do something with cooking as either a side career or even full time. I think that's pretty awesome that you're moving forward with it. Once you impress this family, you know you will be getting referrals and then you can probably get a nice little client list going!!

Off to throw towels in the dryer!

Thinking back, I believe you are correct. Les had been vocal about it via facebook and it stuck in my mind. Apologies!

 That is frustrating!
Indeed. I don't have the time right now between classes, but I will have to look into the 4 options he suggested as well as any option in Boston (which I'd done already as a back up plan - but didn't look at registration dates). The Boston options are going to be expensive as they're all private schools (BC, Northeastern, Harvard, Mass College of Pharm. -- BU doesn't even offer the course I need, which I think my wallet is thankful for).

Meeting Travis this weekend has kept me sane. If he was able to go and do all the great things that he's done with his limitations, then these small limitations should be very surmountable. The perspective was eye-opening this weekend.

You do realize that you get a cold from a virus, not from being exposed to a certain temperature, right?

yes... but iffy sleep and conditions can certainly make one more prone to it.

Check into online courses. I think Rivier in Nashua (tCBG would be close;) ), UML and others have online courses that you could do. Wouldn't help the lab part but might give a bit more flexibility.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four

I think I have been stood up on a phone interview. It was suppose to take place at 10a.m. I actually woke up early to be alert and my phone is working. I have already gone for a walk to clear my head, but that has not worked yet. I understand designers march to their own drum, but no email saying that it will take place later.

Happy Monday Lodge!:)

Afternoon Lodge.

Good luck 'ewe. And to MNS, although it would mean I'd have to be sure to never fly to ND again. ;) Glad Bob's mom is better, hope a long term solution is found to the potassium levels.

Leaving for PT on my shoulder in a few minutes. Hope it helps.

I've wondered why you haven't gone into something food related also. From the pics in the cooking thread it seems you have a knack for making nice looking(I;m sure they taste good also:) ) meals and it also seems like you enjoy it.

Just got back from work's other location. I attended a presentation over the lunch hour given by a U student on some stuff, I don't really remember, she was too distracting.

Interview today at 5:00pm in Eden Prairie, then it is off to Wayzata High for rehearsal. I am not used to having so much to do on a Monday. Kind of sucks. :D

bbdl, all I'm gonna say is lay off of the American Honey for a while. If you end up staying with me when you come up here, I'm going to ban it from my house.

Also, I just determined that I'm retaking Biology and Chemistry this summer. Between those two, and working both jobs, well... goodbye summer. You were a nice thought.

Blasphemy!

Besides brent, state of hockey and I were all very entertained by that conversation! :D
