Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

I had basically filled my 20gb classic so it was eithe the 32 or 64. Decided it was worth the extra $100, especially since I wanted to add movies onto it too.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

After I finished my workout at the DU fitness center earlier this afternoon I decided to walk through Magness Arena to cool down a bit because the air is comfortable in there. I came upon a hockey practice in progress of the best team I've seen in the building this year. The players were wearing non-descript jerseys, but were impressive with their shooting and passing. I watched for a few minutes and kept walking toward the north end of the arena intent on heading to the parking lot. I was impressed by how well the players skated, passed and shot the puck.

I stopped for a few more minutes and it was only then I facially recognized Dan Boyle, Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

got a serious question for everyone:

the company that purchased us and ultimately put us on the street is offering to hire some of us. I have the application in front of me. Question is, do I pull the trigger and go to work for this company?

Swallow your pride. Just do it.

Cadbury eggs and potato guns, more fun that what you thought possable. :D

Nice. Ever shot a fish out of one of those?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

Might as well send in the app, and yes, resist the urge to fill it out by taking a big steaming dump on it. Unemployment sucks, and having a job with them now would put you in a better position to look for a better job elsewhere at your leasure. ;)

This. Interview with them. See where it goes. It's easier to find a job when you have a job. Or so I'm told.

Still have my headache. :( I need to go get some dinner. Maybe that will help.

Can't say that I've used fish, but I have done that with frogs. :D Saw all the parts that you get to pull out in HS biology lab early. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

yeah. I hate the company. It yanked the rug out from under my feet. It took a great small airline and is disbanding it. It's putting me and 350 other employees out on the street and forcing a lot of people to scramble for employment.

Blue Horseshoe loves Blue Star.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

Decided to throw what was left of my pot roast on the stove in some boiling water, eventually i'll add some veggies and turn it into a veggie beef soup. Haven't done this before and I'm pretty much shooting from the hip, but I think it will end up pretty tasty.

Also, saw that the only thing on tv was bouncyball, this fact caused me to pour a drink. Bouncyball sucks.

I'm taking a small break (intermission, if you will) between "Inglourious Basterds" and "Boondock Saints II." IB was awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

The soup turned out amazing! Glad I started working on that about 3 hours ago. I think i'll post pictures and try to put something down for a recipe in the cooks thread. Though it probably won't happen until next week when Internet works again, I don't want to figure out how to post pics on the BB.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

So I finally got around to reading the Ohio St. new coach thread...

That Sterling Cooper guy is pure comedy gold...:p :D

WAY COOL!!!!! I hope you left the parking lot before Dany Heatley got in a car though. :D

Good evening, Lodge. Working out makes me tired.
Thinking of going to a movie tonight with my aunt and grandma, any suggestions?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

Very long weekend in Baltimore with the family. We did visit Mount Vernon (which I'd never been to) and ate at a delectable restaurant in Baltimore (Langermann's for those of you in the area), but very tough. The bad part is dealing with the family. This part of the family has adopted a very "Southern" attitude and is incredibly conservative and religious. Given things that have happened to me personally, it is very tough to listen to their opinions knowing that they haven't had the same experiences (I understand that's vague, but it's not sokmething I'm comfortable sharing with the whole board -- no offense). A bottle of wine helped me deal with some of it (Velvet Devil - from Washington State - a deep Merlot, I highly recommend it), and I cooked Easter dinner, which also helped. I'm very much looking forward to going home to Boston tomorrow and to seeing tcbg on Tuesday.

Sadly, my brother heard from all the Ivies that he applied to earlier this week (Penn, Harvard, and Columbia), and he didn't get into any of them...He's now a part of the Georgetown Class of 2014. I think he's disappointed, but I am incredibly proud. He was accepted early action and I think he's a genius.

Not much - if any - of a step down. Congats to him!
