Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Between Spring Forward and Bonus Hockey the Wally household is tired and barely functional this morning. It did rain finally but just showers and it appears to be over
At least you are happy and nonfunctional.

les - You can like UNH; we're not going to the Garden, either, because we couldn't score ONE *ing goal in 135+ minutes of hockey.

It's crossed my mind to sell my tix for this weekend (though I won't). I just really do not care about the rest of the season right now.
We, as in the les family, might be going anyway. Have to see.

Yes, it was a good ride home last night. Lots of Lowell fans up there, they support there team well. Pretty even game, Maine lucked out in the end.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

happy hockey room! *dances a happy jig*

ok, time to sleep. Job interview tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Good luck!!

:slinks into the sad hockey room:
:sits down:
: ponders a UVM v Maine final in HE (the only thing that would complete the upside-downess of this season):
:(
I can't even imagine a UVM/Maine final either. Who would I root for? On the good side, if that does end up being the final, I won't be upset when I can't watch it at the restaurant because the pumpkin pushers have taken over the TV.

At least you can root for BU with 'Ewe. (She is coming back to Boston in time for the tourney, right?)

What's up lodge.

Internet was weird here yesterday: no websites would open (503 error), but everything else worked (XBOX Live, instant messenger, etc)... hence my disappearance. Did I miss anything epic?

In other news: Brown?!?! SLU get's #26 Union in the late game Friday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Remove #2 and then you are getting close. ;)

Funny quote in this morning's paper from Mark Cuban owner of the Dallas Mavs of the NBA. "Every team has guys that are morons. But you want to dump your morons on the other guy. So you try to play 'Hide the Morons.' "

Now I understand why you have a corner office on an otherwise unoccupied floor. :)

In certain parts of the state of MN/ND flooding is a big concern this time of year. Below is an excerpt from an email I received from corporate HR.

"With the threat of flooding again this spring, ********* is committed to providing the best levels of support possible to employees and affected communities. Knowing that conditions can change rapidly, the following may be helpful as managers and employees address the difficult tasks of balancing business, community and personal needs with the challenges that may present over the next few weeks.

Employees will be compensated at their regular rate of pay for volunteer work during their scheduled workday, as long as their absence has been approved in advance by management. Working more than 40 hours for the week, the employee is eligible for overtime.

Expenses for transportation (mileage) and meals will be reimbursed for employee volunteers during the scheduled work day as long as the employee’s absence has been approved in advance by management. In most situations, lodging expenses will be covered.

********* employees will be compensated for approved time off during their scheduled workday for volunteer activities or for protecting family homes and properties. Since business and environmental conditions can change rapidly, employees and managers need to stay in close contact. While employee participation in flood-related activities is encouraged and supported, it is not required."

Not many employers will allow their employees to take time away from work with pay and without using PTO to help others. One of the numerous reasons why my employer is so awesome.

I've always heard that the Burger King in your town is class-act business. ;) :D

I should not be allowed to watch hotly contested sporting events on Sunday nights. I was so worked up after last night's game that it took me forever to get to sleep and the sleep was fitful.

So, uh... g'morning.

Now you can sandbag in the postseason just like the Sioux!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Good morning Lodge.

I had a very special visitor at my house yesterday. :) My boyfriend and I spent Saturday afternoon going around to dog adoption events (and playing with the cute puppies at a pet store...not that I would ever buy from there). We met the newfie that I had filled out an application on and we met her roommate a 2 year old lab mix. The foster mom of both these dogs thinks the newfie might be a bit of a handful for a first time dog owner (she has some skin problems). But, she thought the lab might be a good dog for me.

Anyway, yesterday Maddie the dog came over and sniffed all around my house. It was really cute watching her go around the perimeter sniffing. She spent some extra time with her nose up to the kitchen counter and stover wondering what wonderful smells were there. The boyfriend and I talked to the foster mom and she said at this point I'd be approved for any of that rescue organizations dogs. However, she has another house to take Maddie to visit and I am one of "3 great potential families" for Maddie. So now I have to wait and see if I get her or not.

I need to write a thank you note this morning. Any suggestions for last minute ways to sway the judge?
Big bag of doggie biscuits, she probably goes thru a lot of them.

Ah March. I love newbie season, don't you? How many threads on the same topic can we have this week?
Did you hear that Joe Thorton got traded??? ;)

While I could probably sway the dog with bacon, the judge/foster mom is vegetarian. Maybe boca bacon. Mmm...fake bacon (is surprisingly not disgusting).
Lies!!! There is only one true Bacon!!! All other bacon are false bacons, and should be put to death by stoning for the crime of trying to be as awesome as bacon!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

I am very happy. Apparently golf courses are already opening in the Twin Cities, so I am trying to figure out when I can get out and play. :D

And if there was a way to harness that crap that the U and MTU called a season there would be enough to fill every sandbag for the next four to six years. :D

I've always heard that the Burger King in your town is class-act business. ;) :D

Would you like to add fries or bacon or supersize that request? ;)

Don't worry about us. We'll just dry our temporary tears with our NCAA championship banners.
