"Morning Lodge. Ugh, 7 AM practice. Time to get the peewee out of bed. :(

Morning to you, Goldy. I'll be in your shoes in 10 hours. (At least I get to stand out there with 'em, to help them remember which way to turn and whatnot. :o )

I just got an e-mail from my boy's hockey league, reminding us that tomorrow morning is the HK Marathon, and to check for traffic closures. I went to the marathon website, and they had a download-able guide to the streets that are closed. It's eight pages long!

Checking in to the Happy room, party of 1. :D

Oh, and I left my NMU jersey at the hockey offices tonight to get signed by the seniors. Our coaches are awesome. :)

D-mn! Forget driving; see if there's a helicopter or balloon you can rent...

Good morning, Lodge. I don't want to shovel today...

The kid being able to drive is a good thing. :)

cc to Mr. Hong Kong: I sent Mr. Phunn a note and he's going to let me know if there is any kid ice when you're in town next summer. If I hear anything I will let you know.

Sorry. That rep was meant for someone else. :(
Ok, I was just confused... I haven't planned any trip lately :( never mind cancelling them.

That rep was for me. :)

No idea what to do today. I should probably do some cleaning. And laundry. I'm thinking of signing up for yoga. I may check out the Boston Sports Club that is across the street from me. They may be pricey, but the location may make up for that.

Morning Lodge

Going to go look at houses shortly! Hopefully I find a couple more that I like!

So Ralph and Patman,
We're planning to come out to DC in about a month (spring break). Where would you recommend a family of 3 stay? I'm assuming the burbs on a rail line is better than trying downtown. We'll likely be in the DC area for a few days then rent a car and drive up to PA. Thanks!

That's what I'd do... I'd go as far out as I can and metro in. I can't be more specific since i don't have a car and i haven't been out the further burbs. Just generally, avoid Prince Georges County... Red line Montgomery county or greater Northern Virginia are your best bets. I'd also limit the number of times you drive into the city itself because traffic is crazy.

I know there's a few other people who made non-Frozen Four trips who can give some insight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

I would stay in town personally, we almost always do that when we travel and if you're not getting a car while in DC why commute? Plus, I think it's worth seeing the monuments during the day and at night.

Have your got your tickets for things like the capital, Washington Monument, etc.? They more you have in advance the better.

Maybe someone who understands Twitter can answer this...is Twitter open to all, or is there any privacy? I ask because Julia Mancuso tweeted that she was at the USA/FIN game and I tweeted back asking if she was going on Sunday. Someone ELSE responded, saying it depended upon how many times she mentioned her sponsors (because she was an evil sellout, apparently). If I send someone a message, anyone can read it?

I'm not sure I like this Twitter thing...
