Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

You really think that having to take an extra day off, having a much slimmer than usual shot at a conference title, and only having about a 50/50 shot at getting more than one game (compared to only having to take one day off, having two games guaranteed, and a good shot at the title) isn't going to affect how many people make the trip from North Dakota?
I'm not thinking it won't make it difference. I know it won't make a difference. The situation has happened before, and it didn't.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

So, after 95 minutes, a live chat person who was useless, threatening to leave ATT, getting a number for other tech support- hold 15 minutes (this person wanted to know if Mass was a part of Texas:eek:) , being transfered to tier 2 tech support (this person was in the US somewhere- southern accent) being told I needed to be transferred to another person (not from TX or this side of the world) I finally got connected with someone who tells me I am no longer able to keep my email address unless I switch to DIAL-UP ATT. Well. See ya ATT. After 27 yrs of loyalty I now need to search for a new telephone provider because I can't live with dial up and they don't have DSL here.
That sucks. FWIW, get a Gmail or hotmail account, that way if you change ISP again you don't have to change your email address.

I hate whiny people. Seriously.

Okay, so I should be focusing on my own schoolwork, right?
The best friend texts me and asks me to figure out her GPA.
Now, normally, this would take me maybe 2 minutes....
But no, her letter grades aren't even figured out, the grading scales aren't listen on the syllabuses... This is like a 35 minute research project, and then when I say that I don't have the time, she begins to whine and say that she "does so much for me."
I'm sorry, but if you cannot figure out your own GPA then you should NOT be in college. Really, is it that complicated?

She's so technologically challenged it's not even funny. I have to figure everything technology-related out for her.

Speaking of GPA's though...
I just got my mid-term grades, and if the semester ended right now, I'd have a 3.77 for the semester. :)

1. That's what I did (prior to having an NMU e-mail). After finishing, they gave us free e-mail for life via the alumni network, so I'm using that. However, once I have a last name change, I'll probably go that way again.

2. The only thing I can think that would make it complicated would be credit hour weight. However, it's still not THAT complicated.

I am not a happy unit- I have to readjust all sorts of things- I have had this email address for a really long time- probably all but the first yr I had email. (>8 yrs.) I don't even know all the things I need to change- will have a huge list of stuff for various warrantees, organizations, etc. I think I will take the gmail advice but I still need to work out which provider I want to use. I only kept what I have because of the email address. I hate researching stuff.:(

I just realized Mr gives out this email address too. AHHHHHHHHHH!

Seriously, SG is right - stop being a pushover. It's alright to offer help, but make her do the actual work so she doesn't have to keep asking.

and get your damm drivers license, so you don't have to keep asking her for rides!

Haha, now that I'm living in Houghton, I don't ask her for them. Truuuust me. :p

EDIT: Just found out that my sorority broomball team is down 3 players. We've been down two for a few weeks now, but the loss of this third one is pretty harsh. Two defensemen gone (one 1st string, one 2nd) and our original center/captain. This freaking sucks. Very well might mean that I'm playing the whole game, as the one girl who typically subs in for me will probably drop back to D... Only hope I have for getting any rest is if we pull ahead by a few goals, but we're not really a high scoring team. (Our record was 8-1 and we only scored 14 goals all season. However, we also only let in 5.)
*sigh* what a mess. That game is also now moved to 11:15, and I've got an exam tomorrow. Hellooooo Yager-like sleep schedule.

I understand the hassle. I still have the Gmail address that I set up with my old last name, just because I have no idea what I used it for. (I had been using for at least 8 years). How long do you have before the changeover?

As far as alternative services, I used Comcast when I lived in Boston and was satisfied with them, thought I'm sure a lot has changed in four years.

BTW - we are totally fed up with AT&T as well. I work from home, so I have to have a reliable connection, which except for the three times a week it takes a 'lunch' break. (seriously, when I lose internet it's between 11 and 2) The problem is not the outages, it's then when there is an outage, they cannot give me any shorter of an estimate of when it will be back on than the next day. So, I, in turn, cannot tell my boss how long I will be offline and not working. It's gotten so bad we are about to get a cable connection as well to use as a backup.

If that's the case, I won't tell you what happened at the HFH on Saturday evening. :D

I got very drunk AFTER that. I was hungover watching it though. I appreciate RPI keeping the building very quiet for me the way they did.

For those of you that don't follow the bracketology closely, there is a possibility of a first round matchup between #26 and St, Clooud.
