Morning Lodge.

I'm not religious, so not giving up anything for "Lent", but I am once again attempting no fast food. I figure it's my Chinese New Year resolution...or maybe I'm giving it up for Lent.


Happy Thursday-like-a-Friday for me! Bf and I are doing a crap ton of driving this weekend. We're going to Niagara Falls tomorrow and ending the day with Air Force at RIT hockey. Then off to Delaware Saturday to surprise Phil's dad for his birthday.

I've met his dad before, but I'm a little nervous as I will be meeting a bunch more of the family. His aunt and uncle are helping with the surprise by taking his dad out to lunch. I read the e-mail to the rest of the family inviting them to lunch and there was a line that read, "plus, this is our chance to meet Mandy".

Niagara Falls? Isn't that for newlyweds?

A few years after I was done at that school, one of the priests was later found to have embezzled from the Church, and that he was housing an illegal immigrant Asian woman. It was a sugar-daddy/green card sort of thing, apparently.

I know I've said this before... but back home in my teen years we had two priests...

the one I didn't like was an ex-alcoholic who kicked out the scouts because he was gay and he didn't want anybody making the gay/pedo association... on top of that he did some other weird stuff... painted the inside front of the church pink and put in two "eye" windows... wrote two awkward children's books which tried to blend the pagan aspect rituals and the religious story... etc.

then there was the one I did like and seemed like a nice guy... he moved to another church in the city and then started to embezzle the funds of that church to his new prison boyfriend.

Don't give up on the religion because the people suck... if it is then it is regardless if the guy leading it is furry prostitute on his off time... the leaders are not the church.

I gave up smoking (for real this time. honestly, I'm sick of it), Taco Bell, McDonald's, and drinking.

I give up nothing for Lent. First off, I'm not Catholic. Second off, I'm Lutheran. We get to sin, sin, sin...followed by the deathbed repentance! Third off, I really am not a religious person anymore. Bryan Bedford is an ultra-hardcore religious nutjob and I just can't believe in the same god this idiot believes in.

I'm not going to give up anything, don't see the point, but I'm not catholic either. I quit on religion after it was continually forced on me growing up. Oddly enough, I really enjoy learning about religious history of all religions, it is quite interesting to me.

I once talked to somebody who I knew (not from home) who was involved in church type stuff... one of these other organizations of some sort... who wanted to switch stripes of Christianity over the pedophile stuff... but the thing is, why change if what you believe hasn't... this doesn't mean you put up with the awful stuff for the sake of some irrational idea of unity... just the opposite, if there's a wrong to be righted then work towards that... only change beliefs if your beliefs have in fact changed.
