Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 102: Hockey Sucks!!!

Since I was late for work I'm going to leave early to make up for it.

Watching the USA hockey team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> work

Hopefully it's a good game but it probably won't be easy especially if Switzerland is able to get the game played in the neutral zone. This would definitely play to their strength since they have alot of experience in this area. ;) :D :p

I am out of the loop. What time is the game? Mens or womens?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 102: Hockey Sucks!!!

...then a goalie fight broke out between Genoe and Stewart...

...And 5'11 Genoe went all Mike Vernon on 6'4 Stewart and beat the crap out of him. Additionally, Jordan Baker made Mark Olver turtle up at center ice.

You missed those parts. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 102: Hockey Sucks!!!

Doh!

Don't go into the curling thread that was just created.

Thanks. I'm staying out of any of the threads related to The Olympics until I've watched them. Personally, in this day of dvr's and delayed broadcasts the only threads the results should be discussed are in the specific threads dedicated to that subject, IMHO.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 102: Hockey Sucks!!!

gmann: re your rep, I have him in both leagues, and early on he was awesome for me, lately he seems to have leveled off, but he's still one of the guys that I start every game. Definitely one of the guys I was able to pull from the a little lower in the draft that have been great, along with Colborne and Ben Smith from BC.

He has cooled off. However, he is one of those players that can heat up quickly.............

The goalie fight did happen in my dream, and of course Genoe beat the crap out of him. It was a dream, after all. :p
But no Baker fight. :(
US men vs Suisse, 3-6 on USA.
I have that one set on the DVR along with curling. :D

Has anyone been in the Olympics thread? Have they been posting afternoon results? I don't want to look in there and ruin what I have set to record on DVR.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 102: Hockey Sucks!!!

gross. Almost as bad as CHA's evil rep to me.
the answer was to where the tattoos (temporary) are located

What ever do you mean? I would never do anything like that. :D You must have read it wrong. You should really read it over and over again just to make sure you didn't read it wrong. :p

You were in Bowling Green, why didn't you go curling? I've been curling 3 times. It's fun even with a group of people that aren't very good at it.

I'm only been to Bowling Green once and when we were there you didn't take me. :(

Is this one at Pagel? That's even smaller, isn't it?

Yes it's at Pagel.

Um, yeah, I'd be interested. Sounds like it could be a great one. I'll let you know if I'll be able to make it.

It sounds like trying to buy tickets ahead of time or getting there early would be a good idea. Let me know.

My response:

Talking about curling mostly. Nothing that really gives anything away, but who when that will happen so you should probably just avoid it.

See, we're actually hiring, but as a budget cut, they decided to only send us up for the fall career fair this school year. I will submit PB's recommendation while it is still in my mind...

edit: recommendation submitted! Though, unfortunately, I don't have as high of hope for PB as I did with Ducati, just because we are hiring much fewer full-time employees than interns at this time. But its still worth a try. He should be getting an email shortly with instructions on how to proceed from here. :)

Ouch.

My question is this: why, as a company, would you come to the fair if you really have nothing to offer in terms of employment? OK, the networking is nice, I know, but it just seems cruel, too.

Pretty much. Well, a lot of them are up for Co-Op & Internship openings, but had full-time listed on the website as well.
The good news is that the co-op he was supposed to have a summer or two ago, but then got pulled out from under him because of budget cuts, is available again, and the two guys at the career fair were the two that interviewed him.
Rhinelander isn't even 3 hours away, not that I really want to go to Wisconsin anytime I want to see my boyfriend.... :p

I know from being on the recruiting team, that we always want to have a presence on campus, even if we aren't hiring. But to make it seem like you're hiring when you're not, is not right. The one career fair that we went to, when we weren't hiring, we were very clear and upfront about not hiring at the time, and encouraged people to see us the next career fair. We ended up seeing many of the same people again, those candidates ended up having the upper hand when it came to getting interviews. We remember the people we talk to, and the more we see of you, the better chance you have of getting a job. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't avoid the companies just because they're not hiring at the time, they will remember you for next time, especially if you make a good impression.
