Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Morning lodge

Another stormy drive today

Little did I realize the layer of ice beneath the snow until I witnessed three cars in front of me hit the ditch by the Albertville exit. Thankfully the ABS and traction control systems kept me on the road. A total of 12-14 ditch mobiles in the westbound lane alone. 30-40 mph all the way in.

Yikes. Just cold here. That is OK.

Good morning Lodge.

Cleared the driveway at 5 this morning. The wind is blowing so it is hard to tell the difference between what is blowing or falling.

Took little gII to the ER last night. High temp. Very high temp. Tonsillitis. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

There was a question on whether or not the age of consent thing was correct. Certain people said that the age gap was too large. Regardless, I'm thinking I made the right choice here, as painful as it is to pass up getting some. I think it kinda hit me when I realized that she was in high school...yeah, that wasn't happening. :p

I encouraged you to go for it. I am still upset with you that you didn't.

poor bastard. Hope he gets better. :(

Happy Holiday I don't get off from work so I don't care about! :D

I thought you guys didn't care about Beanpot Monday? You have a holiday for it?

Yikes!! Hope he's OK!!!!! How old is he?

Good morning Lodge. Had an 8:15 doctor's appointment this morning. Got there 10 minutes early, rode up the elevator with my doctor so she took me right away. I was in there for about 5 minutes. Turns out the rash on my feet and calves is not really related to the allergic reaction but is exzema (sp?) due to the dry air, etc. I asked since I've never had anything like this before if it could be a result of what I went thru a couple of weeks ago. She thinks it's possible. Greeeeeeat. So, got a prescription for a topical cream. It will have to wait to be filled as I have a busy day today AND it's the Beanpot final tonight. Not that any of you care. But it's college hockey on a Monday.

Morning, Lodge. Agreed on the NMU band thing - I saw that Facebook group last night and thought, "The 'rudest' band? Wouldn't you rather try to be the 'best' band or the 'most fearsome', rather than the 'most impolite' or the 'least well-mannered'?" :o

gmann: I hope that there's nothing seriously wrong with gII!

Morning lodge.
Crazy weather
You made that decision... and then you changed your mind when you had a second chance so you tried to find her. Do you not remember this?

Oh I remember just fine. That was alcohol induced. :p
If we wouldn't have gone to that party, we wouldn't have been able to carry that passed out guy from the snowbank to the house!

Are they removing them or treating with antibiotics? I had it when I was a college freshman, and they gave me, I think, penicillin for treatment.

Coincidentally, my physician has brought up to me that I should have mine removed after spending almost six complete months sick last winter, and now just over two continuous months this winter. Well, there's that reason and she thinks it could help with my sleep apnea.

BTW, it's better they remove the tonsils as a kid than for an adult. I was doing some reading, for a kid it's a 1-2 week recovery. For an adult, it's along the lines of 2-6 weeks. And the first week they suggest you not talk at all.

The Lass had her tonsils & adenoids taken out several years ago, couple of tough days then she was fine. It was an amazing transformation for her, her energy level and appetite improved tenfold. She had also had several ear infections which vanished after the procedure.

Sadly, her docs suspect it was probably an ear infection which never manifested in fever or other symptoms that may may have led to her hearing (~25%-28% in both ears) loss. :(

Ya, exzema sucks. I used to get it around my wrists when I was playing hockey for some reason. Just don't itch it much if you can resist it, it gets a little messy.

Nasty for adults. Laid flat for a few weeks even is very healthy. I've had people think they were going to tough it out. Not happening. However- if they have nasty tonsils they feel great after they are gone . Kids pop outta bed the next day.

At least it's something treatable!

Apparently in these modern times Dr.'s are reluctant to remove tonsils/adnoids compared to when I was a kid. As soon as the tonsils flared up, remove them, was the motto then. I was three when mine were done. Same with my brother, sister and most of the kids I grew up with.
