Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Hey GE (or anyone else who knows), what's the best way to Wakota from the west? Which exit from 494 should I take? It looks like Concord street should get me there, but the map programs tell me to take the 7th Ave exit. Thanks!

From Caketown to Cowtown Arena I would take 494 all the way to Concord.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

hey Lodge. I fell asleep yesterday at 4:00 and woke up this morning at 6:25. Guess I needed some sleep. :o

There's some good news on the job front. An airline in Minneapolis (Compass) is hiring. They are reviewing applicants for the next 6 weeks and then beginning interviews. I talked on the phone to the HR person yesterday (she called me). She said I more than meet their requirements, they know about the Lynx situation and feel bad, and that she would really like me working there.

It's really the best news I've heard in awhile. Doesn't mean much, but right now, I'll take what I can get. :)
That is awesome! :D
Morning Lodge. Clear and cold today. The kid has a field trip today - to go skiing! We never had field trips to ski slopes when I was a kid. We had boring trips to museums and stuff (actually, they were still preferred to sitting in school all day, but not as good as skiing).
We had a ski day when I was in 6th-8th grade. All of my buddies and I lived very close to Welch Village, so instead of taking the bus to school and then bus back out to the ski area, then doing the same thing in the afternoon, we got permission to just show up at the slopes. We got to sleep in, then we always took our quads or snowmobiles to the ski area. In 6th grade we rolled up on 4-wheelers right as everyone was getting off the busses, we definitely got yelled at, but we didn't care, there wasn't anything the teachers could do. All of the city slickers thought that we were the coolest 6th graders ever, since we got to ride our 4-wheelers there. Too bad we'd been riding those things since we were about 6 years old. :p

Awesome news... I hope it all works out for you.

Wow! Mr. Cake Eater has it really rough. His limo driver doesn't know how to get to South St. Paul.

Man you sure have to deal with alot of heartache. How do make it through the day dealing with things like this?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

'Morning, Lodge. Definitely feeling better than yesterday, but still not feeling great.

SG--that's great news! Best of luck!

Congrats SG

If you need a reference feel free to put me down. I'll make sure to tell them how you're hostile and abusive. How you like to hammer punch people. I'm sure that would really help your chances of getting the job.

In all seriousness, good luck getting the job.

Awesome. Show up to the interview with driving record in hand this time. This way you can avoid them not being able to get it for 6+ months. :)

When you interview in person remember to tell them you're also a bartender and you'd be available to mix drinks back in coach. Might bump you a full pay grade. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Nope...the proximity of the buildings creates a venturi effect which causes the wind to speed up through the city.

The shady politics are the entire state of Illinois. :D
I think the big lake next to it helps too (the wind, not the shady politics)

Wisconsin is the worse state ever!!!!!!!! So no that doesn't count. Although, I do like Wisconsin Dells and Pirate Cove mini golf. At a matter of fact for a while I was hoping to help a certain little girl get to have a great time there but then unfortunately the misfortunate of adult life intervened. Women!!!!!

I've been to Boston atleast four times and had a great time each time (even though twice it involved you :p ) so I really think you should take me some where else.
I need to go to the Dells, I love cheesey things.
As for cool trips I will keep you updated, things were sort of up in the air because of the moving thing, but they are starting to settle out. I also need to just drive to north dakota, so I can check that state off.

I think the lake helps the politics too. "Sleeps with the fishes" come to mind? ;)

The Dells are about as cheesey as they come too. Many of us would like to "check off" North Dakota. ;)

I think he's still flying, but not for too much longer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

I've flown over North Dakota and even looked out the window a couple times. Therefore, I've basically been there and I can "check it off". :p

Must not hunt ducks or upland game, eh?

That place rules for outdoor sports, and the people are awesome. :)

There is no reason to go any further than the Ralph.

Why don't the awesome North Dakotans go to the University of North Dakota? Because UND fans are most certainly not awesome, except for SG and MNS, but their from MN so they don't count. :p ;)

I want to go South Africia this summer but nobody seems interested in going with. There has to be a lot to see there. Plus the world's biggest sports event will be going on. Even though I'm not a big soccer fan I would love to experience the passion fans have for the World Cup.

There are so many places I want to see. Pretty much the whole world.

I would love to go but the flight is out of my price range :p

I was just kidding, but to answer your question - not very often. When I do, there's plenty of flat farmland in central lower Michigan for that.

There are awesome UND fans. SG and MNS, SfiS, Omaha, and many others. They're no more of a PIA than Gopher fans or others schools can be when discussing or defending their teams. I'm pretty sure you're comment was tongue in cheek. I just hope you're not judging UND fans and NoDak residents based solely on what you read on SiouxSports.com ;)

Yeah, it was tongue in cheek.
