John Hancock in Boston or is there one here too? It was the AON building, it is on Columbus, just south of the river.

There's one in Chicago, too. It's 95 floors, and there's a restaurant on the 94th floor, I think. I haven't been to Chicago since 2001.

I believe Hokydad tripped over his spilled glass and fell down the stairs.

the UVM thread is the new HE Messed Up Thread of the Year. It's all about the Pinheads...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

I always thought it was "spectacles, testicles, wallet, & watch."

I've heard that one too.
I "think" the origin is what to check for when you leave a ladies room in the morning or that evening. Not positive though.

ETA - not surprisingly, I was way off :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

I just got out of a meeting. This is the first time all day that I have not been in a meeting, not even a lunch break. Time to start getting my actual work done.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

So, after a couple of crappy, crappy days, I decided to pull out my copy of the 2003 HE championship game. Glad I did. This was a phenomenal game. Fields and Ayers just battling for just over 70 minutes. Lots of memories, too.

A summer hockey camp I'm considering for my son has Mike Ayers as the goalie coach.

No, it's time for lunch!

Question for the portable tech geeks here. I can't see the polls portion of the cafe on my BB. Any tips on how to get here? Thanks

Post a link to tLodge in TRP, then use your crackberry to follow that link. Then bookmark it.

You have to tell your BB browser to act like Internet Explorer or Firefox, instead of the default behavior.

Then the Poll section will show up. I posted instructions for Scarlet a few Rep threads back.

I raided the vending machine. :p

On my Blackberry, I couldn't get to the polls using the standard BB Browser, so I downloaded a 3rd party app to use as my new browser. It is called Bolt, I think it is easier to use and faster than BB browser and it sees all websites in their normal view, not the mobile sites. Take a look at this link to the crackberry forums, select your phone, then go to the 3rd party apps thread, there are many free apps there for you to try, including Bolt Browser.

http://forums.crackberry.com/

edit: i guess it depends on your phone, whether or not there is a good thread for 3rd party apps. There is a really good one for the storm. You may want to try the crackberry app store instead, you can just go here on your phone to download from it: http://software.crackberry.com/platformMainMobile.asp?platform=5

So I should scroll through a few thousand posts to find those instructions?

I know, I just need to scroll through all your posts, but still....I may take Pricless' advice.

Here they are.

Open Browser --> BB Key --> Options --> Browser Configuration

Browser Identification: Firefox/Internet Explorer

Save

(the default is Blackberry)

No, you and him should just learn how to use your phones apps properly. :p

Blackberry Browser still sucks. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Or how about you just remember that the URL ends with "f=20" instead of "f=10" (which is the cafe) like I do on my iPod touch? :p

Why ruin the settings for all mobile sites when one quick fix gets you what you need?

m.nhl.com, m.tsn.com, and similar all load a Hell of a lot faster on mobile devices than the bloated regular webpages.

I don't like looking at mobile sites, that bugged the hell out of me. Even after I switched my BB Browser settings to "firefox" it still loaded a couple sites in the mobile version. And I still couldn't use fantasycollegehockey.com on BB Browser. That is why I went to Bolt, and from my experiences, it works much better.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Hmmm odd, I don't have a problem getting FCH to work. The bb browser must be more restrictive than Safari for the iPod/iPhone.

Speaking of that, I've been slacking this year. :o

Other browsers probably are faster loading pages then the BB browser.

However in general you also need to remember to turn on Javascript compatibility in the BB brower, because I believe by default that is also turned off. That would preclude you from using a lot of sites.
