Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Evening, Lodge. I was going through my bedroom tonight and realized I have more clothes than I know what to do with, and most of them are too big for me now.

Pillows... get some foam and some thread and you're done with Christmas

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

God man... you MTU people are weird... at least the MIT and CalTech people come up with some interesting **** when they're bored. Seeing as you guys are snowbound for so long I'm shocked you guys don't come up with something stunningly interesting. You know, fully functional dragon, world's largest light-brite board... something.

PLEASE, TECHIES?? PLLLEEEAAAASSEEE???

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Hey, thanks! Check your email. :)

My pleasure, hope I can find something.....

I remember that arena had an amazing view of the Mississippi when you went to the edge of the parking lot. I also remember never going near the edge of the parking lot because of the stench of everything around that place.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Between the stockyards in SSP & the sewage treatment plant in Newport it's sure not called stink bridge because of the huge construction overruns. :)

Stockyards are closed now, everything is now shipped out of Zumbrota, MN.

On the subject of the poll... anyone remember the Loony Tunes episode "One Froggy Evening"?

So so hilarious!

So, after a couple of crappy, crappy days, I decided to pull out my copy of the 2003 HE championship game. Glad I did. This was a phenomenal game. Fields and Ayers just battling for just over 70 minutes. Lots of memories, too.

ah... ryan whitney with the game winner??

That would be the game. Can't help but feel bad for Fields. I remembered the game being a goalie battle, and I remembered BU controlling play in the first (until, strangely, their power play with about 3:00 left), and then UNH really controlling it for the rest of the way. Ayers made a spectacular save with about 30 seconds left in the game, but Fields made one 28 seconds later, then about 8 more big ones in OT.

A rare instance of puck luck in a big game for UNH.

YAY!!! Finished with my Genetics homework (has taken about 5 hours of actual concentrated work)! :) Have a few lingering questions for the TA in discussion tomorrow. Now I kind of want there to be school so I can ask them... :o (Of course, if school is canceled, I won't complain...much)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Remember how I said no relationships longer than 48 hours for me, for at least year? I am willing to make an exception for Lindsay Vonn, yowzaaa! :D :p

Sweet! It really seems like you're enjoying everything much more since you went back to school, and that is awesome! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Vonn's married. :p

Are affairs and relationships the same thing? You might get out of that one on a technicality.

Yeah -who knew?! (Of course, I will note that I'm much nerdier this time around. I sit in the front of the class (or near the front anyway). I ask questions (not in lecture, but afterward). I've been to office hours and I have a favorite desk in the library (6th floor cube, next to a large cement pole, away from the windows). First-time-around-college-me would kick current-me's äss. :o

I wish I could come across a copy of the 2000 East Regional SLU vs BU. Also a goaltending battle for 4 OT. Great, great hockey game.

That is the game I watched that turned my attention to college hockey. Just an absolutely amazing game.

It was unreal to see it in person. I really felt bad for Maine and Michigan I think who were slated to play afterwards, having to wait around for 6 hours. And, given the quality players on that SLU team, Robin Carruthers scored the winning goal. Definitely would have been about my 11th pick heading into OT.

Unfortunately, SLU had 2 awesome freshmen go after the $$ after that year, Derek Gustafson and Brandon Dietrich, both of whom fizzled out in the minors (Gusto played a few games with the Wild, Dietrich got stuck in Hartford). Who knows what may have happened the year after had they stuck around (SLU lost to CC in 2OT in Worcester the next year, due to a phantom crease violation on a goal. Oh, if there was video replay in 2001).
