So, funny story--I'm bringing my very first car home, and about a mile from my house I notice smoke coming from the steering column. Naturally, I panic, but I get it home and we get it towed to a shop. That night, I was talking to the guy I was kind of seeing at the time about it, and he asked me if I had checked my turn signal fluid. I actually believed it and he went along with this for about 20 minutes, making up how I was supposed to check it and what to look for. I'm thinking, "aw, what a nice guy, helping me with this." Then, another friend of ours messages me and says, "You know (he) is messing with you, right? There's no such thing."
I was mad at the time, but now it's funny to think about.

My sophomore year at Ferris, I come back from the bar one night and two RAs are talking to each other in the lobby. One of them is from Turkey and he's having car issues. I knew the other one. The other one told me about the car. He told me that he thought the Turkish guy's problem was probably a lack of blinker fluid. I nodded my head and asked the Turkish guy if the car rode a little rough. He said, yes, he thought the shocks might need to be replaced. I shook my head and told him to go to Walmart and get some tire air cleaner. If you clean the air in the tires, the tires will make for a better ride. Walmart should have it on the shelf next to the blinker fluid, or at least in the same aisle. And if not, ask to see the manager and request that they order it, as this could get to be a quite serious problem.

By now the RA that I knew had to walk away to keep a straight face, and as ****faced as I was, he probably thought I was serious. About 45 minutes later the Turkish RA presented himself at my door, asking if I was serious, and that maybe he shouldn't drive his car, and if I would give him a ride to Walmart in the morning. I assured him that the car was probably safe to ride in, and that they would take good care of him.

He didn't speak to me again for about 2 months.

My tire pressure light sometimes goes on when it is really cold. When it warms up, it fixes itself.

Yeah, one of my neighbors mention that it could be on as much as it has been due to the cold.

And wow - my niece's dance team WUZ ROBBED!!!!! They just has the morning awards ceremony and their marquee number came in second. The other performance was really lame. Not that I'm biased or anything. :)

Some cars have the wheels matched to a location. If you rotate them you have to tell the computer to relearn the locations. It screws the computer up if you don't do that, which may be why your inflation monitor thinks tires are underinflated? Not sure if your car is like that or not?

i just roll out the duck tape and cover up all them lights... i can't be distracted when i drive!!

Tire pressure sensors are generally very sensitive. A difference of 1-2 psi from the norm is all it takes to activate one.

My Alero has aluminum rims which like to leak, meaning whenever the light goes on I get to throw more money away to get them re-sealed.

She probably needs to put winter air in her tires, too. Summer air doesn't do as well in the cold.

Any gas station should have pressure gauges for sale. On the inside of your driver's side door, there should be a sticker that tells you what your PSI should be. Just check all 4 tires and see which one is low. The pressure changes when the weather gets colder, but that doesn't mean all 4 will be low. I usually only have one that needs to be filled. I drive a 2008 Elantra, and that happened to me about a month and a half after I bought it. Also happened with the Sonata I drove the two years before that.

Oh...and don't go to a gas station that CHARGES you for air. That's garbage. Find a free one.

The transmission belt could be a reason too...

'Diva...don't feel too bad, I know a few people who have fell for the blinker fluid thing. Then again, one of them didn't complete high school...:eek: :D
