Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 100: This Poll Sucks

I had leftover pizza-materials, so I'm making pizza. Just ham for toppings. I have bacon, but I'm hoarding it for just the right moment.
Mom made Bean Soup today for lunch. Starting to feel the effects of it now. She also made some oolie gooie chocolate cookies as well. Bad Mix!!!

Lost the transmission in my truck today. 108,000 miles, driving along and all of a sudden I get a hot transmission warning, pull over, check the fluid and it looks like waste oil,F___k. As soon as I saw the color I knew it was pooched. Limp to the dealer, 3200 bucks for a new factory transmission, don't even have the piece of crap paid for yet. Priced a new truck, 30,000 but I'd have to order it as there are none to found in the whole country, that means 8 to 12 weeks before I'd get it. So I have to fix it and that sucks
Yeah, but its still a fixable problem. Not having a vehical would have been a bigger problem for you.

Yeah but the 3200 would have paid the truck off. Oh well, I need the vehicle to make money, without it I'm useless:)
Oh come on Walrus, don't sell yourself short. You're already useless. ;) :D

The lad finished in the middle of the pack in his section pursuit race (classic style followed by skating) and was third on his team. Not bad for a kid who first strapped on Nordic skis in December, 08.

You overestimate the value of the truck. ;)
Sorry man....never fun. :(

I took firearm safety, even though I didn't know if I'd want to hunt or not. I ended up going deer hunting with my dad and loved it. I've gone every year since.

Even if he never hunts in his life, firearm safety is a great course to take. In my opinion everyone should know how to handle a gun safely, even if they never have any intention of ever shooting one. With something like firearms, the more people that know how to safely handle them, the better off we all are.

My dad just took a CCW course. He's been shooting all his life, and he said this was the hardest course he's ever taken. The material fills three books.

Very little of it was actually on handling firearms. Most of it was on the legal aspects of pulling the trigger, such as what situations you legally can and can't use the firearm to defend yourself. If you shoot someone, regardless of if you were in the right or not, expect to be cuffed and taken to jail until they sort it out. Then there's the aspect that you're responsible for anything you damage (if you're in an apartment and hit the neighbor's door, it's your ***.)

This is not a criticsm but it seems like bartending is less a job and more making money to hang out and have fun... I know it ain't that simple but if I could live life over under different circumstances I'd love to do something like that.

Hey GE, getting way ahead of myself here, but.....

DU has won seven NCAA hockey titles, and that number doesn't even come close to the sport in which the Pioneers have won their greatest number of NCAA titles: skiing. In fact the Pioneers are the defending NCAA ski champs and last year's title was the school's twentieth [20th]. Nordic skiing is an important part of NCAA ski meets.

Skiing is the only NCAA sport in which co-ed squads compete for a title. That is to say men and women comprise the team which is crowned the NCAA ski champion. There aren't separate titles for men's and women's teams.

If your kid becomes proficient in his event you might keep DU in mind when it comes times to look at colleges. And let's face it, secretly you've always harbored a deep ambition to cheer for the Denvers. Your kid may be your only hope to do so. :D :D

Don't forget having to clean up messes (both literally and figuratively) that aren't yours :p

I think that DEFINITELY depends on the bar. Corner hole in the wall frequented by the same 8 or 9 regulars on a night-to-night basis? You might have a point. 90% of the other bars out there? Definitely not. They are running around like fools, trying to hear over all the fools shouting and the music blaring, in a majority of states choking on smoke, and have to be right on. It's definitely work.
